Modern Downtown Yale, Wooster Square apartment

I will never rent from this host again! My story starts with me waking up in the middle of the night covered in itchy bites & found 5–6 bedbugs crawling in the bed. I sent photos to the host, cancelled the remainder of my 35-day reservation, and moved out later that morning. After I told the host I was leaving (via text b/c he wouldn't call me), he took on a defensive tone. He suggested I lied about the timing of everything in what I assume was a preemptive attempt to discredit me ahead of a refund dispute. He then refused to text, saying everything would be handled via VRBO. He never apologized, but he did send a boilerplate message asking for a 5-star review. VRBO's 1st refund offer was for a fraction of the unused stay, which I refused. After multiple hour+ calls, they negotiated an acceptable amount with the host and emailed saying the refund was successfully processed. A week later, no refund. After another call, I learned the host had initiated the refund THAT DAY, contradicting VRBO's previous email. Another week passed, still nothing. Support then said the host became nonresponsive & eventually said to contact my credit card company & file a chargeback. THIS IS YOUR WARNING! The listing was briefly removed after I reported the bedbugs, but was relisted shortly after. It was NEVER removed from that other rental website. This host is skilled at delaying refunds, and VRBO's policies are easily exploited by hosts who want to make things difficult for guests who complain

Lovely place to stay- clean, amazing and kind host. Ideal location near Yale but quiet and safe. Onsite parking was great. Will def try to stay here again!

Although the apartment is new, it is cheaply constructed pseudo modern style. The owner put in Bare Bones effort to make the place inviting. It's located on the other side of the highway from Yale. It is just OK.
