Palo Alto, California
Easy/Flat and newly set up first floor apartment, located close to downtown Palo Alto, included 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, spacious living/dining room and word station, one designated parking spot and street parking available. Laundry (Coined) is in the building. Convenient to shops, restaurants, and Caltrain station. Biking distance to several high-tech companies and the famous Stanford University.
While the apt. was cute and spotless, it was a black hole in the wall. The windows looked into neighbors gray wall.Kitchen was very well equipped, a small cutting board would be nice. Issue was NO TV for 2 days and 2 nights. I was told i could get standard channels. Everything else must be paid via a subscription. They sent someone over at the end of day 2 who could not figure it out. I had to get out of there and requested be reinmbursed for the the 3rd day I did not use. Lili said yes but did not follow through.
There apartment was as advertised. Clean, tidy and in a walkable area. The apartment is in a quiet area and has one dedicated off street parking spot which I really enjoyed having. The noise transfer from the apartment above was loud. You can hear every step the people upstairs take, I don't think there would be anything the hosts can do to diminish the noise. So just be aware.
Listing your property as having sleeping for 3 then having one of those spots be an air mattress on the floor is not OK without disclosing that ahead of time. Also, the living room blinds were broken and so I did not have privacy. When I texted the first night and asked for then to be fixed they said “thanks for letting me know” and never fixed it.
Lesson learned for me. This property lists as sleeping 3 but what they don’t tell you is one of the “beds” is an air mattress for the floor. I assumed it was a pullout couch because of all the couch pictures. Also, upon arrival I noticed that 2 of the vertical blinds were broken off and there were gaps so That the living room did not have privacy. I emailed immediately and said I would not mind if it were a second story unit but it was ground floor, and facing 10 feet from another complex that had bars on the windows . She said “thanks for letting me know” and did not make any move to fix it. I did not have privacy the whole time I stayed.
Stayed at the property so that I could take my son to summer camp each day at the university while I worked from the apartment. Location was ideal to the university with neighborhood parks, dining, and supermarkets close by. Car port allowed us not to park on the narrow street, which was great. Internet connection was good allowing me to work full time. Communication with owners was excellent. Would stay again.
