Palo Alto, California
Easy/Flat and newly set up 2X 1B1b apartment units, next to each other, located in the City of Palo Alto, where the famous Stanford University is, the unit with a full kitchen, living room, and designated workstation. two dedicated parking spots and street parking are available. Laundry (Coined) is in the building. Perfectly located close to Downtown, convenient to shops and restaurants, and Caltrain Station. Biking distance to several high-tech companies. Perfect for multiple families or groups.
Five stars on everything that matters: cleanliness, sheets and blankets, heating (we visited in December), availability of towels, toilet paper, soap, dishes, appliances, silverware, parking space. Not really a negative, because there is no mention one way or the other in the listing, but the apartment has no outlook to speak of. Even if you were to open the blinds, you are basically looking at a wall. Didn't take away from the experience, just noting it for anyone hoping for views of Northern California out the window.
We were visiting Stanford with our son. Perfect location, nicely decorated units. Plenty of space to spread out. Everything we needed was there- just perfect! The bed in unit A was too firm for our taste, but that might just be personal preference.
Thank you to the host for making the apartments available. All in all, it was a pleasant stay. The apartments were nicely updated. Linens were nice, and the hangers available in the closet were perfect. I'm including comments that I think would make for a smoother experience: 1. The lock/unlock code we were given for one of the apartments was incorrect. 2. There were no washcloths or kitchen towels. The host suggested that we purchase some, for which we'd be reimbursed, but the occasion of our visit was a family celebration, short and busy, and we had no time. 3. There were very few glasses. We would have appreciated some more. 4. We couldn't figure out how to get the TV on, and neither could our adult sons. We didn't have much extra time to watch, but other renters might. 5. The vertical blinds in both rooms didn't work properly. We were unable to close them completely. It was okay with us, but it detracted from the ambiance. ;-) Our suggestion: Most or all of the places at which we've stayed have had sheets or binders available which contained all the information and instructions about the various appliances, etc., that we might need to know as well as any requests of the host. This place had none of that (e.g., TV), and it would have been very helpful.
