The Neighborhood
The apartment faces Gallaudet University in a quiet, residential area. Union Market, H Street, NoMa, and Ivy City are all within a 5-minute drive or 10–15 minute walk. Union Station is about 2 miles away — 15 minutes by bus/streetcar or 10 minutes driving.
Parking
Parking is competitive. Free, first-come, first-served, but please be aware that Mon–Fri, 7 AM–8:30 PM, there’s a 2-hour limit for vehicles without a Zone 5 permit. Evenings, nights, and weekends are unrestricted. If you plan on driving around DC, be aware that parking can be tricky to navigate — always read the signs carefully wherever you stop or park.
Getting Around Without a Car
You can walk to most of the surrounding entertainment areas. The closest metro is NoMa/Gallaudet (Red Line). Ubers and Lyfts are plentiful. Capitol Bikeshare docks are about a 5-minute walk away — in front of the local elementary school and on Gallaudet University’s campus.
