Lodging in a seventeenth century farmhouse - Samoens

The farmhouse is beautifully converted and the apartment had everything we needed. The view is spectacular. The location is rural and beautiful. We very much enjoyed our stay.

A genuine old farmhouse, beautifully restored and the accomodation is a self contained apartment upstairs with original old beams and a wonderful view over the mountains . It’s a very comfortable and warm apartment, in a lovely tranquil hamlet just about ten minutes drive from the centre of Samoëns on the sunny south side of the valley. We really enjoyed the warm welcome and the friendly hospitality of our hosts Veronique and Frédérique who went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our dog was delighted to have a friend to play with too! We will definitely be back and wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend this unique property.

My partner and I wanted an autumn break in the Alps for hiking and this apartment was perfect for our needs. Véronique and Frédéric are very friendly and wonderful hosts and made our stay even more enjoyable. The top floor apartment is in a very old farmhouse in a beautiful valley with amazing views. It's very convenient as a base for hiking or skiing or just if you want to relax in a peaceful setting. Thoroughly recommended!

We had such a lovely time in Mathonex. Veronique and family (and animals) were so welcoming to us, and very helpful towards us, giving us lots of suggestions about how to spend our week. They were very tolerant of our rather naughty dog :) The property is comprised of the top floor of a large and very old farmhouse. It is comfortable, and nicely appointed. The views are spectacular, and all you can hear is the sound of the mountain stream. We would love to return.

The upper floor of this converted barn is a very nice, quiet and cosy place to stay for a weekend or a week. We are a family of four and it comfortably accommodated us during our spring ski vacation at Samoëns. Although it was very cold outside it was always warm and cost inside. The property is light and well equipped.

We have thoroughly enjoyed this accommodation. If you are looking for peace and quiet with a great nights sleep, look no further. It nestles in the hillside overlooking mountains. The only sounds you will hear will be ......... nature. The gite is warm, cosy and comfortable. Load of hot water, comfortable beds and quality finish. The hosts Veronique and Fred are delightful. We would love to return

I stayed for one week with my family at this beautiful property in Samoens. The apartment was really well appointed with stunning views of the mountains and every morning we were treated with a wonderful sunrise. The apartment itself, was super comfortable, the kitchen was very well fitted with all appliances, oven, microwave, plus coffee machine and other essentials. 2 bedrooms, bathroom, and living area all totally ample for our needs. Veronique and her family were very welcoming and they really enhanced our stay, by giving us great suggestions of things to do and see around the area. Canel their super big friendly mountain dog, the 2 horses and cats all did there part in making our stay truly memorable. We would definitely come back again and have passed on the link to some friends of ours. The property is in an area of outstanding beauty, the views are breathtaking, the walks are peaceful and challenging and the proximity to Geneva and Italy make it even more appealing.
