A little history:
Place Pey Berland is home to Saint-André Cathedral, its separate bell tower, known as Tour Pey Berland, and the Palais Rohan, which today serves as the town hall. Formerly the archbishop's residence until the French Revolution, the building was in turn the seat of the revolutionary court, the prefecture, the imperial palace and the royal castle. Saint-André cathedral is also a major witness to the history of France, and of Bordeaux in particular: it hosted the royal wedding of Louis VII and Eleanor of Aquitaine in 1137, and that of Anne of Austria and Louis XIII in 1615. The Pey Berland district is also known as the Hôtel de Ville district.

Public transport :
- Tramway Line A, place PeyBerland, 50 m on foot
- Tramway Line B, Place Pey Berland, 50 m on foot
- Free Vcub bike hire station 100 m from Place Pey Berland, making it easy to visit and get around Bordeaux.

Positives:- The location is superb. It’s easy walking distance to the places we wanted to visit, the Office of Tourisme, the trams, the Petit Train, and the bus to St. Emilion.- It’s quiet. The apartment is clean and looks like the photos.- The bed is comfortable and the shower easy to use and enjoy. The towels are good - When we were a week from checking in, we were told that Catherine was to meet us at the apartment to let us in and explain everything. She was responsive any time we texted her, and helped us delay our check-out time for a few hours as we had a late flight. The not-so-positives:- After we had a confirmed booking our VRBO messages and texts to the phone number listed were not answered. It was only when Catherine came into the picture that we got responses.- To reach the apartment you have to climb two flights of narrow winding stairs (44 steps). When you are a senior, and especially when you have two 50lb suitcases, this is not easy. This is a serious issue- Most of the power outlets are falling apart. We were worried about the safety issues, and we had to be careful to make sure what we plugged in was actually getting power.- Much of the furniture is cheap and even the doors don’t close properly. Overall, this is an excellent apartment for a short visit with light luggage. It is not recommended for seniors who have difficulty with stairs. It will be better if the owners send in a handyman for a day or two.

An excellent stay. You can't get anything that is closer to the center of Bordeaux, very close to the cathedral. The apartment is very comfortable, the bed is good and the kitchen has every thing needed to cook any meal you want. Big bathroom with very good shower. The water closet is a little small. The living-dinning room works well. The management company (cocoonr) were very good, and answered our question right away and were available at all times. All in all a great place to stay and a great location just off the main shopping street, St.Catherine, a very good walking street.

Nice apartment in a great location for exploring Bordeaux's old city area. Many restaurants and historic sites within walking distance. Well furnished and a reasonably equipped kitchen.

Le New Vintage Great location and accommodation ideal for what we were hoping for. ? Accommodation was ideal for what we needed and the location was perfect. ? Not really a failing, but there was no air conditioning and it was really warm when we were there.

Le New Vintage We really enjoyed our stay here. The unit was very spacious and had everything that we needed. The location was great and easy to walk everywhere that we visited. We loved the character of the building and the modern finishing in the unit.

Le New Vintage Nice apartment, reasonably priced, in a great location ? The location could not have been better ? Light over bathroom sink did not work and toilet room was too small for today’s average traveler
