Great place! Only a few blocks from my sisters so it was very convenient! Would be a great place for snowmobilers to stay also.
How to well equipped kitchen, large bedrooms, was clean. Would have been nice to have a wall mirror in each bedroom. Since only one bathroom and can sleep multiple people would be convenient to be able to go to your bedroomTo do hair and make up and not tie up the bathroom
Amazing stay. Owner is very friendly. Very easy to get on main road either north or south
We came up for winter carnival at Tech, and before I arrived I was a little disappointed to be almost a half hour from campus. But … it was easy to get here on highway 41, and We loved our stay here! Spacious and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. Comfortable beds with extra pillows. Lots of extra towels. Tissues in every room. Adjustable thermostats in every room. Plenty of comfortable seating in the living room. Hardwood floors. Fully stocked kitchen – truly fully stocked with lots of pots and pans and utensils, seasonings, paper products, service for eight, measuring cups, oven mitts, corkscrew, can opener, all those things I usually forget when I’m packing food for a vacation. Hairdryer in the bathroom. Beautiful pictures on the walls. Big TV with cable and a DVD player. Lots of good movies, books, and games to choose from for an evening in. Free WiFi. Closet space. Jane the owner was so friendly and helpful on the phone, and sent me an email with useful info and her personal cell phone number to call or text if I needed. We would definitely stay here again.
We decided to book this location for a last-minute getaway during fall school break for a family of four. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, and the Wi-Fi kept all of us online. I would have no problem working remotely from here using the Wi-Fi, but this was a short vacation, so remote work was not in my plans for this trip :-). We loved the strategic location of this property, which made it easy to visit Houghton and the Michigan Tech campus, as well as the northernmost portion of the Keweenaw Peninsula. We also thought the little library of DVDs was a nice touch and watched one as a family after a busy day of touring around. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay, and I would come back if we were in the area again!
It was a great place for our family, clean, cozy, with all the amenities. The steps may be difficult for some. It in a great location to explore the peninsula
All went well, nice place, would stay again.
The house was clean and well stocked. The owner was very responsive and helpful. My husband and I were traveling with his parents who are in their 70s. The stairs were a bit steep but we all managed fine. The beds were comfy and we all slept great. We brought ATVs, but the trails (#3 in particular) were way too rough. It took us about 1.5hrs in a side by side to get to Bete Gris Bay and we may have losened some teeth on the way. We also took a shorter ride to Gratiot Park on dirt roads and that was enjoyable. The sunset was great there and so were the rocks. The town is very sleepy, so you'll want to get groceries before you arrive. We did find great food at Galcia nearby and there were a few other restaurant options we didn't try. The ice cream below the apartment was delicious. We didn't have a chance to try the bison hot dogs, so I guess we'll have to go back :) Overall, this was a great stay. I highly recommend.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here, it’s always very clean and cozy. Plenty of space for a group of 4-6 people. The beds are very comfortable and always plenty of linens. The host is very accessible and helpful. This is one of our favorite places to stay in the Keewanau!
This is the second time we stayed here for a friends’ ski/snowboard trip, and it was just was wonderful as we remembered from last year! Jane was fantastic in accommodating us, and we are looking forward to staying here next year as well!
Clean and convenient location, well stocked and owner is very responsive
This was a great location, very convenient for visiting my son in Calumet, and for exploring the area. Gas station, store, and restaurant very close by, and ice cream store right downstairs. We would definitely stay there again.
Clean quiet comfortable convenient for mine tours and museums as well as Eagle and Copper Harbors Very little road noise although just off highway right above ice cream shop- also try bison dogs
We will definitely be staying again.
We stayed for over a month. The apartment is beautiful, well appointed, well supplied, with a location conveniently located for day trips to Houghton/Hancock and Copper Harbor. However, we did have some problems with accessing the Blue Ray player and streaming TV, and the hosts were less than responsive on that score. They need to pay more attention to their guests' requests or at least have someone nearby who can do that. Nevertheless, I would still stay there again and highly recommend it to Copper Country visitors.
Everyone friendly and helpful
We were in town for my son's graduation from Michigan Tech. All the places close to the school are so expensive so I found this and it was just adorable. Amazingly clean it had everything you needed and nice size bedrooms. I would definitely return here again.
