The hosts are welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The grounds are beyond beautiful. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The extras are thought about and delivered- kayaking, pool, hot tub, fire pit with smores, lake views all day♡ We loved staying with D&D!

I spent Mothers Day bird watching, fishing, and enjoying time with my kids who came up to spend time together on the lake. Thank you again for a perfect stay.

Everything about our stay was five star. The property is wonderful: the grounds are beautifully manicured and the lake is peaceful and serene. Having my morning coffee on the patio looking out at the lake was the perfect way to start my day. We had just completed a very difficult year with my husband having health issues. Debra and Dennis were very compassionate and supportive. Our 5 days at their beautiful compound was a much needed respite for us.The trip was planned to visit our son and his family who live just 10 minutes away. We have 2 granddaughters who visited us while we stayed ảt Island’s Sunset and thoroughly enjoyed the activities that are available on the property.We certainly hope to stay at this amazing property again some day.

20/10 Experience on Lake Murray!From the moment we arrived, this VRBO exceeded every expectation. The directions were clear, check-in was seamless, and the property—nestled on the stunning shores of Lake Murray—was nothing short of breathtaking. The grounds are beautifully manicured, and each room opens to a shared balcony with serene lake views that instantly put you at ease.The host has thought of everything. Each room is uniquely themed (green, gold, and blue), tastefully decorated, and stocked with thoughtful amenities: a Keurig, coffee, sweeteners, mini fridge, creamer, bottled water, and snacks. It felt like a boutique hotel with the warmth of a personal touch.The common outdoor area is a dream—complete with a grill, ice maker, and cozy seating. The pool and hot tub are pristine, with plenty of floats and noodles for lounging. The pier is well-lit and offers a generous selection of watercrafts, all available for free use. We especially loved the pedal kayaks—such a fun and unique feature! There’s also a canoe and paddle boat, making lake adventures easily accessible.What truly sets this property apart is the host. She greeted us personally, gave a warm tour of the property, and provided a helpful guidebook in each room. For an additional fee, she even offers a boat tour to see the purple martins—a magical experience well worth it.The location is ideal, with nearby shops, restaurants, and local events just a short drive away. We will be back!!!!

Everything was amazing! The hosts Dennis and Debra are very hospitable. The property was beautiful and well kept with so many things to do. It was everything we needed and more! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to relax but with things to do to keep you and the kids busy. We will definitely be back!!

Property is immaculate, hosts give great attention to detail, and hosts readily available if any questions about the area. There are many activities available right on property. There are great views of Lake Murray from each room. The sunsets from this property are spectacular

Our stay at Debra and Dennis’ beautiful home on Lake Murray was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. Debra and Dennis were so polite, accommodating, and truly went above and beyond to ensure our visit was peaceful and fun. Their home is a reflection of their kind and generous spirits, creating an environment where we could relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake. What made our stay even more extraordinary was being reminded of one of my favorite scriptures, Proverbs 3:5 – ‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart.’ It felt like God was blessing us through this wonderful experience, and it was clear that Debra and Dennis are blessed as well, as they continue to bless others with their hospitality. My husband had the best time fishing right from the dock, catching four catfish and even sharing the joy by giving two away. This trip was truly a gift, filled with moments of peace, joy, and God’s grace. We are so grateful to Debra and Dennis for sharing their little slice of heaven with us. We will cherish the memories tweaks!

This was our 4th time staying with Debra and Dennis. They are the most gracious hosts, the property and rooms are immaculate, and they have every amenity on site you could possibly ever need or want! This is like a home away from home for us and we can't wait to go back with friends and family!

Great host, great location, beautiful setting

We stayed for 2 nights first week in June. Debra (host) has thought of everything. It is a gorgeous area on Lake Murray, big too. Lots of room to play & tour. Toys organized & out to play with. Canoe, kayaks, paddle boat, & stand up paddle boards. It’s awesome. The rooms are all good looking and loaded w/ features. Bed was soft & comfy. Snacks, water, etc. It is so worth coming here ❤️?

This stay is nothing short of spectacular! We had a weekend away and it was the best weekend! We tried to cram all the amenities available to us in those short 3 days! So much to do! The Green room we stayed in was perfect! Room was Very clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. They had snacks/ drinks available to us in the room for our enjoyment. The property is amazing. Very well kept, manicured landscaped. So many things to look at as we walked the property from yard art to water features! The amenities for us to use were plentiful! We loved the trampoline in the water! We enjoyed taking out the peddle kayaks, 4 seat paddle boat, stand up paddle boards! Also had canoes, kids kayaks. Pool was sparkling clean! We used the gas fire pit to relax in the evening! They had ping pong, shuffle board and other games to use as well! We can’t wait to go back!! We’re looking into having our family/grands visit for a little getaway! Dennis and Debra have a lovely home and we’re very thankful they share a portion of it with others to enjoy! Hosts Debra and Dennis are genuinely kind and gracious hosts. They couldn’t have been any nicer. The site is so much better than the description and pictures. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable and have a beautiful lake view. Each room has a Keurig coffee maker with assorted pods, a basket of snacks and a refrig stocked with coffee creamer and water. On site are many toys and games - paddle boat, pedal kayaks, stand up paddle boards giant floats and a water trampoline. There is a beach area with fire pit. Plus there is a pool and hot tub, ping pong, horseshoes, shuffleboard and more! Debra and Dennis took us for a boat ride in their luxurious pontoon boat to tour the lake. We usually like to stay at differnt places but we will definitely return to the Sunset Island Trail!
