Honesdale Escape ~ A Place to Remember.

Host was very responsive to any need I had and responded quickly. The apartment is very clean, cozy and quiet. The host goes above and beyond. He even carried my luggage in for me upon arrival and to my car upon departure.

Great time, host was super helpful! Awesome weekend with a great comfortable place to have for homebase.

The bed was broken so badly we had to leave and find a hotel. The picture shown here is not what we had. The bed frame was broken and the owner shoved an old radiator under the bed to keep it up. I can barely walk after sleeping there. Thank goodness the Settler's Inn had a room.

THE PLACE WAS NOT CLEANED BEFORE I ARRIVEDVRBO allows only 1500 characters for this review and I can not list all the issues I had in so few characters. So, in summary, the place had not been cleaned before I got there. Dirty bathroom, unwashed sheets on the smaller bed, etc. Spiderwebs in the corners, uncleaned floors. I contacted the host about how dirty the place was, who sent her daughter. The daughter was the one who was supposed to have cleaned the place before I got there. She admitted to me that she hadn't. To be fair, she did offer to clean it then, but at that point, it was too little too late. It was in need of a deep cleaning, which should have been done before I ever got there. While I didn't expect this place to be fancy in any way, I did expect it to be cleaned. That's really the main thing. It was bad enough that I opted to leave and find a better place to stay. The host ignored my request for a refund, given the place had not been cleaned prior to my arrival.I wish I had read the reviews before I booked. Some people love this place and I guess if it was clean, it would have been fine. But you'll see other reviews like mine where the place just wasn't clean.In addition, quite a few pictures on this listing have nothing to do with this place. This is not an apartment at some nice resort with a gigantic pool and waterslides, gym, community room, etc. This is an apartment above someone's garage with an above ground pool in the backyard.

It was dirty

Cozy And Comfortable Owner was easy to get ahold of and Eager to assist

Need a place to stay while my daughter and I attended a camp nearby. the location was convenient to town and there were perks to the apartment including a pool, it was rather dirty. Lots of insects (not because it was in the mountains but because of caretaking). It was rather dirty, enough that my kids commented on that. It also had some rather easy repairs that were needed yet left undone. The apartment smelled of weed in certain areas which was a turnoff.

The unit was absolutely perfect for our needs. Morgen was amazing. Contacted us to welcome us into town and to see if we needed anything. He was informative, friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the area. We needed an item we forgot and Morgen had it at our doorstep within minutes. By far our best experience with VRBO so far. We are looking forward to our next visit and stay at this location.

It was a bit frustrating as the reservation email did not include any address but property owner very responsive. Also was not aware that other people would be staying on the grounds or that it was a shared property.

Cleanliness: It is an apartment over a garage attached to the main house. The place reeks of stale cigarette smoke. The furniture smelled rancid. Food stains on walls. Bedroom doors had holes in them covered by boards. After being there for 16hrs, our fresh clothes and hair smelled like smoke. We left and booked another property. Check In: Wasted 1hr trying to get wifi access because host displayed wrong information. Took 1hr to get back to us. Accuracy of Listing: Deck needs an overhaul, loose boards and exposed nails. Patio furniture had mildew on it. Pool area was nice but host sat outside and watched us in pool, very uncomfortable. Communication: Alerted host we were leaving, did not seem to care of the problems we listed. Messaged host numerous times through site never got back to us. Alerted host of male family member walking into the apartment, did not feel safe. Location: house in the middle of a neighborhood. Nothing noteworthy. Overall: Unfortunately, I had to give 1star. Owners male family member walked into our rented space. This made us extremely uncomfortable. Between that incident and the cleanliness/stench we left after 16hrs and rented elsewhere to finish out our vacation.

Everything was as expected, would stay there again

We arrived to the property about 5:30 pm and left at 9am the next day so it was a really quick stay. We did need to contact the host about the Wifi PW but we got a pretty quick response. It was super hot in the apartment when we arrived, it would have been nice if the AC was already on for us. We did not use anything outisde other thank the grill which worked fine. The sheets in the bed and other linens (hand towel in the bathroom) did not seem fresh though. There was black hairs all on the sheets and pillow cases. The 3 TVs was nice and we watched movies all night. The couch was also comfortable. We did have to wash out own dishes as well which in most places is covered under the cleaning fee. We also did not check anything out near by so cannot say much about that. We probably should have stayed in a hotel but I wanted to grill so that was the main reason we stayed. Overall 4 stars.

It was a reasonable price
