Private house also used by the owners for their holidays.
Family atmosphere. Kind and quiet neighbors.
On the second floor of a house in the center of the town, on the lake shore.
Large balcony with beautiful view of the lake and the public garden.
On the balcony you can have breakfast or dinner watching the sunset over the lake.
Double bedroom (with an additional single sofa bed), living room with double sofa bed, bathroom, eat-in kitchen. Total: 4/5 beds.
Available: oven, TV, washing machine, electric water heater, air conditioning in the living room, shower and bidet. Balcony in the kitchen for hanging out clothes. Space in the cellar for bicycles.
Fresh and quiet communal garden with benches.

2) THE TOWN
Porto Valtravaglia is a small town on Lake Maggiore 8 km from Laveno, 9 km from Luino, 80 km from Milan.
Very quiet environment, apart from the nearby provincial road. Mild climate.
Ideal place for couples, families with children and elderly people.
In summer there are frequent markets and popular festivals with music and dancing.
In the town there are bars, restaurants, pizzerias and pastry shops (excellent ice cream!).
Monday morning market under the house (parking prohibited).
Dario Fo, 1997 Nobel Prize for Literature, was born and lived in the village.

Tourist materials are available in the house to make the guests' stay more pleasant.
Guests will find a “book” prepared by the owners (in Italian and English) with:

8) WHO ARE THE OWNERS
The owners are a couple of retired high school teachers. They have traveled extensively around the world and love meeting new people and traditions. They speak Italian and English, but they also understand a little French and Spanish.
For the owners, having guests is always a pleasure. Guests have always appreciated it.

    The flat was nice and good location. Would book again. Living room is facing the street, though, and traffic noise can be very loud especially on weekends mainly due to motorcyclists and the single glassed windows. Bedroom window goes to the back and is plenty quiet.

    The owners of the apartment were very kind and helpful when they welcomed us. The apartment has everything you need and is right next to the beautiful Lago Maggiore. Most of the beaches surrounding the lake consist of pebbles, but there is a small stroke of sand near the apartment, which is a great plus. There is also a great gelateria very close by, as well as a supermarket. There are many nice places to visit in the area, such as Varese, Milan and Verbania.

    A true homestay style of experience. A very clean apartment with everything you need. The pebble beach is just around the corner. The town itself is small but has a new supermarket with a great selection for your homecooking etc., as well some small shops, bars and restaurants. I definitely recommend apartment and the town ! Car recommended, but the train and bus service is ok too.

    The property was perfect for our young children as there is a kids play park right next to the lake and a pebble beach where they loved swimming in the lake. The decor and amenities in the apartment is not modern but we really like the period character of some of the furniture and the homely family feel. The town is small but has all the basics we needed. We managed on a short stay without a car as there is a rail service and boat trips once per day. Be aware that if you want to do lots of boat trips then other ports / towns on the lake do have much more frequent services than Porto Valtravaglia does., or you may be better to get a train to Luino or Laveno first.

    The owners are very friendly and answered us quickly when we had questions. The appartement is nice and has everything you need. There's no WiFi, but we didn t miss it while having holidays. If you need WiFi, the bar at the harbour in front of the house has an WiFi access, which you get also a little bit on the balcony. The flat is decorated with old antiique furnitures. The flat has a really good price performance ratio. The village is quiet and calm which we enjoyed with our family a lot. There s not a big infrastructure,, but there are some Restaurants/Bars, a supermarket, a bacery, beaches, a ATM, a kiosk, a pharmacie, a small historic city center, so basically all you need. And if you like more action, bars and infrastructure, the bigger cities luino and laveno are close by car. In Front of the house is directly a park, a beach, the harbour, bars etc.! You can see it also from the nice viewed balcony. We would come back to that place respectively to that flat, so our feedback is just positive!
