Apartment unit was very nice, shower was cold but in buildings like that it's hard to keep the shower water warm. The sunrise view was beautiful, the walk on Detroit River boardwalk was awesome, neighborhood nice. Due to construction it was harder to get to the parking lot but we found a way. The back parking lot seemed sketchy so I am glad we got a spot in the front parking lot. My son (age 13) loved the loft room.

Entry is much simpler than it seems. Arrive during the day so you have the sunlight on your side. Post with lockbox between 2 trees is located on the INSIDE of the fenced parking area. You will see several lockboxes on the OUTSIDE of the fence, the one you need is easy to overlook. I did contact the host and response was prompt. After successfully obtaining the key, the main door to the building was found to be wedged open. Located the unit easily but immediately upon opening the door, we were approached by a neighbor who asked to see inside, we said no and they seemed respectful and to understand and didnt approach us again. Unit was clean, not sterile by any means. Found a dried out contact lense on the bathroom sink, but that was really the only genuine issue. The building is HISTORIC. Its in the description. Ceiling near window isnt the prettiest but for us it wasnt an issue and really added to the historic charm. There is no barrier along the edge of the loft so you need to be extra careful up there. Also up there, there is a fire sprinkle line that hangs kinda low so watch your head. Heat worked well. There is a rooftop even with the bottom of the window so when you look out the window, the rooftop is alot of your view, but you can see the river and city easily. On the rooftop, there is also some type of spinning exaust vent that made a pretty consistent noise while we were sleeping but i did have some travel ear plugs that allowed me to sleep thru it.

This place worked for what we did. The host answered our call when we arrived & could not get it. She got us right in. It was not very clean, some of the light bulbs were burned out, no blow dry, no smoke detectors.

Aside from the construction, the location seems to be on its way to a come back. The building is old time, stairs impressive, and owners did a great job with the interior! Excellent communication! We happen to arrive on one of the hottest days in Michigan and the ac insert couldn’t keep up. Not our 1st vrbo, owner above avg hospitality!

The host forgot that we were staying there that night. The lockbox with the key was open and empty. We couldn't reach the host for nearly an hour which meant we were driving around Detroit not knowing where we were sleeping that night. The host came, apologized, and quickly cleaned. The building and surrounding area are up and coming. The building being repurposed. The experience can be concerning and requires some trust. We didn't feel unsafe necessarily, but I wouldn't be outside alone in this part of town at night. The place does NOT have 2 bedrooms. It has ONE bedroom. An additional bed in the main room/living room, and a bed in the loft. The loft has no railing so it seems risky to use it. The one wall is a 2 story window with a pretty nice view. But there are no curtains so if you are not in the one and only bedroom, then you will need eye coverings if you can't sleep with light in the room. There is one small bathroom, no body soap, shampoo, or conditioner provided. Only hand soap. Toilet never stopped running/flushing. The one dish we were going to use, a coffee mug, had a hair in it. For over $300 this is definitely not a stay that I would recommend. And listing this as 2 bedrooms is misleading/false advertising. This should not be allowed.

The location was perfect for the Detroit Marathon, and the host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The apartment itself worked well for our stay. However, the building has other units where people were actively smoking marijuana, and the smell carried into the apartment throughout our visit. The host recognizes the issue but unable to resolve it since it came from neighboring units. As someone sensitive to smoke and strong odors, I would have appreciated knowing prior to booking. If smells don’t bother you, this is a well-located and convenient place to stay.

This was the second time I have stayed at Jazimen’s place and I hope to stay again soon! Cool building very close to downtown. Super close to Corktown bars and restaurants, the waterfront and other nice walking trails. Jazimen is easy to contact and super helpful. The apartment is very cool, open concept with tall ceilings and large windows. Clean and bright! Will definitely stay here again when available.

We arrived late Wednesday night and could find a key anywhere, thankfully there was someone else going inside and let us in. We arrived to the apartment and were a little disappointed. Most of the light bulbs were burned out in the place. There were no fire alarms and no railing on the loft area. It was late and thankfully my kids are adults so we went to bed. The beds were horrible and we didn’t get much sleep at all. Between that and the super thin walls we heard EVERYTHING! People talking on their phone in the hallway at 4am. The shower in the bathroom is switched around so the hot is actually cooler and vise versa. The WiFi names and password were incorrect and I reached out to the owner and she immediately got back to me for that. Things were very dirty and the best is that a window is broke out and it was just taped over, not safe at all! We were in town for the Packer game and unfortunately didn’t have a choice to find other arrangements. We had a great time at the Packer game but I would not recommend staying here.

It was not far from Downtown or the nice side of Corktown. Although I have a few discrepancies. DEFINITELY NOT A TWO BEDROOM. It was not the cleanest place. Toilet didn’t work. Hot water was questionable. There were no paper towels and only one roll of tissue. One bed room with three beds. Entry instructions were not clear. The neighbors fought all night for the two days I was there. No elevator on weekends. Old building. No cable, we couldn’t watch football on the tv. The white walls all were stained with dirt or debris, under the toilet had so many spider webs. I wouldn’t recommend

Jazimen was very responsive and a good host. She accommodated our needs for the trip. We had some challenges with finding everything for check in but it all worked out. We were not able to get the TV working and the Keurig did not work. However overall the apartment was clean and offered what we needed.

The condition of this property was unliveable. There was a profound smell of marijuana and tobacco permeating throughout the condo. The loft area was not appropriately secured with railing that posed a hazard. This was NOT ADVERTISED.There was no accessible parking because of construction which also was NOT advertised. We only learned about this when we got our check in message the day of.

Very tough to find the key. Sending pics may be helpful. The loft is in disrepair. Shower faucet was leaking badly. Furniture was also broken. Cleaning was not thorough at all as far as dusting. Walls and doors were quite dirty.

The place was spacious, had a TV with access to apps, and heating/AC because at night it’ll get a bit chilly while during the day it would get a bit hot. Places were easy to get to with a quick Uber/Lyft ride.

From the outside, the large industrial building looks pretty rough. Once inside, the charm begins to build and upon entering the unit, I knew this property would work great for an over nite to hear a show at Saint Andrews Hall. The owner was responsive, helpful for entry details and otherwise not around. The unit was clean and found to be accurately listed. The river view is special, and framed by downtown Detroit and Windsor. The draperies on the East facing windows provide sufficient privacy but in the AM, the rising sun shine came in over the top Alot. May or may not be important to some.
