Austin, Texas
Want to experience what makes Austin weird and wonderful Stay in this cozy and bright studio apartment in the wooded Cuernavaca neighborhood, less than a mile from the lake and an easy 20 minute drive to downtown Austin.
The neighborhood was established in the ‘60s and became a place for Austinites wanting an alternative lifestyle to set down roots. That legacy lives today in the type of home you find here: everything from log cabins to far out lake houses to communal living spaces. And in the type of people you tip your hat to in the street: friendly musicians, artists, and lake-addicted families.
Wake up and take a stroll through the peaceful neighborhood with lake views. Then drive up to Civil Goat Coffee where you can say "hi" to the resident pygmy goat, Butters.
During the day you have so many choices!
• Visit Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park, a wonderful place to hike, picnic, or swim. (6 min drive)
• Check out the Hill Country Galleria for lunch and to do some shopping (12 min drive)
• Gorge yourself on BBQ from The County Line on the Hill (10 min drive)
• Or check out central Austin (20 min drive)
Once you've tired yourself out with all Austin has to offer, head back to your peaceful studio for a tranquil bath in the oversized tub, make a cup of tea in your mini kitchen, and sit out on the bench swing to watch the deer come out to graze and the people come out to sit on their front porches. Settle in for the night on a comfortable king-size bed. And if you’re party is a little larger, pull out the roomy sofa bed so everyone sleeps comfortably.
*Please note: This studio is attached to our main house, so you might hear us (and our teenage kids and dog), and we might hear you! There is space for no more than 2 cars. Kitchenette includes mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, kettle, basic utensils and tableware. No kitchen sink, oven, or stove. The TV in the bedroom has an Apple TV, but there is no cable television.
Everything was great! Easy get there, the place is really nice and the area so quiet and a lots of nature around.
Everything as advertised. Comfy bed, clean, and quiet. Also really enjoyed Patrizi’s restaurant so close - excellent. Look forward to a return trip to this Austin hill country oasis.
This really is a home away from home. Lynn was available if needed, and I liked knowing that. Everything you need to stay short- or long- term is provided. It's decor is cozy, comfy, and the home is private. The location is a beautiful tree-lined area of homes. It's a quiet area and it was nice to see families out in their yards. It's close to quaint community restaurants as well as major streets that make it easy to go anywhere you want to go, but far enough into the community so you don't hear traffic at all. I did see deer! I highly recommend staying here!
Very convenient to activities and easy to come and go. Property was perfect for my need.
We were pleasantly surprised with how nice the place was and how clean and well-kept the appliances were. The booklet with places nearby and photos of the host family were adorable and very helpful. We felt very welcomed and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a cute place to stay. Best ACL weekend ever!!!
Lynnes property is wonderful. Very clean and quiet. She is a great host. Will use again when in Austin. Complimentary coffee was very nice. Thank you Lynne
I will be a return guest because of how I titled this review. Cleanliness, privacy, and a peaceful environment are most important to me. To be objective, my least favorite part was the tub/shower. I’m short so it was cumbersome to balance over the tall sides on the tub because the bottom was slippery. It felt like a residue was on the bottom (maybe soap/body oil buildup). I’d want guests to be cautious and careful to avoid injury. I figured it out and this was a minimal cleanliness/safety issue but worth mentioning if this is a priority for the next guest. Thank you for the welcome and personable stay. I’ll definitely refer others and stay again.
Lynn’s place is great! Clean, affordable, comfortable. It has the amenities you need. My daughter and I were in and out a lot, not spending lots of time in the apartment itself. Easy to get to.
This was very nice place in a beautiful area of Texas.
My girlfriend and I loved it here, it had everything we needed.
Our stay on San Juan Drive was close to all the activities we had planned; Barton Springs Pool, Boardwalk, Juliet’s, Maudie Milagro, Salt Lick and Hills Wine Country and Austin Country Club.
nicely oufitted ap't. nice big tub; could use safety bars.
I was looking somewhere peaceful and not directly in the heart of the city. This was the perfect spot. The place was clean, quiet, and overall perfect for me as I was staying by myself for a couple of days. I enjoyed the view/scenery of the general area and the commute to downtown areas was incredibly easy.
Very nice getaway spot and a great value. Everything you need for a place to stay on a trip to Austin. We'll plan to stay again the next time we come to town!
Great time!
