Stayed Mar 22, 2025I was staying for a convention, and the good news is this was a much cheaper spot relative to other locations in the area. The actual room and the security of the building is fine, but the area surrounding it is sketchy, which really affected the quality of my stay. There were homeless people camping right outside the entrance 24/7, and I had to walk around a large drug deal one night just to get inside the apartment. On the weekend I stayed, people were yelling outside loudly until 3 or 4 in the morning as well, and construction occurred outside in the middle of the night for 2 nights in a row. Not sure if it was a permanent neighbor or not, but my neighbor also hosted a party and blasted music until 2 in the morning both the Friday and Saturday night. That might be temporary, though. I had initially planned on using public transport as well but most of the nearby stations were overrun with homeless people as well, some which yell at and smoke directly in front of you, which caused me to choose to walk instead for the week I spent in DTSD.Overall: this place is cheap and once you get inside it's fine. You that you will definitely (rather than maybe) encounter the homeless as soon as you step outside the front door of this building, and you get the weekend Gaslamp folks and construction in the middle of the night.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I had an amazing stay with Select Stays in Downtown San Diego. The apartment was immaculately clean, comfy, and decorated. The folks at Select Stay did an amazing job making sure I had all the information I needed before I arrived. There were amenities and special touches that really made our stay feel homey and welcoming. There was literally nothing I can complain about. I will definitely stay with Select Stays again and I recommend you too.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The area was nice and the apartment itself was nice but the people staying next to us were very loud and sounded like they were throwing at party at 4:30am on saturday and sunday. We had to drive home on Monday and didn’t get any sleep because of them being so loud. We tried to tell them to be quiet nicely but they yelled at us and proceeded to play such loud music. We were very frustrated.
