Stayed Oct 31, 2024We enjoyed our two month stay in Berkeley. It is a very short walk to Trader Joe's and just a few blocks from Bart, restaurants and Goodwill. Decent neighborhood with a park nearby. You can park two cars in the driveway. The kitchen is well equipped for a long term stay with eating in. The bedroom and bed is very nice. The living room is small. The bathroom shower is over a narrow, classic clawfoot tub which I found a bit unsettling since my agility ain't what it used to be.There's a big oak tree in the back with assorted birds and we made friends with and fed a crow who sometimes hung out on the railing. There are three hosts. Sometimes communication was quick and other times we would get an answer but no specific time something would get done. All in all a good stay in downtown Berkeley.

Stayed Mar 15, 20212nd 6-week stay went smoothly. Convenient, spacious location near Trader Joe's, restaurants (rec. Imm) and coffee shops (My Coffee is the best! Great outdoor patio, lattes, owners). Outdoor, great music Friday nights nearby at former theater. Lockbox check in and departure. Incredibly responsive owner/mgr. Recommend!

Stayed Sep 8, 2020Hillary couldn't have been more responsive and the apartment met our needs well. Kitchen was well stocked and Trader Joe's is 2 blocks away. Take out/food delivery easy. Felt safe at night. Apt is top floor of older house, spacious and clean, with washer, dryer, dishwasher, and excellent air purifier. Bed comfortable, kitchen chairs and sofa not so much for aging spines but cushions helped. Good shower in bathtub. Patio nice when weather cooperates. Parking spot included. Hope to return!

Stayed May 15, 2018I was fortunate to have stayed for about a month and the location was fantastic, the place is exactly as described and it easily exceeded my expectations. As I am a regular visitor to Berkeley I almost didnt want to write a glowing review so no-one else books the place but couldn't do it to the owners who were also ready to help!

Stayed Nov 4, 2017This place is so adorable. The location is unmatched, you will be right smack in the middle of downtown Berkeley, 2 minute walk from the culinary delights of university ave and less then 10 minute walk to downtown Bart. Trader Joes is a 2 minute walk away. Even though you are downtown, the house still is very quiet. The kitchen is bright and light filled and you can hear the birds sing in the morning and outside there is a lovely sunny deck for drinking coffee. The washer/dryer/dishwasher are all brand new and work great. I don't think the pictures do justice to this happy space. The owner is very kind and responsive. We ended up staying for 6 months and loved it!

Stayed Jan 11, 2017Overall the flat is lovely: nicely furnished and equipped with literally everything you need. The kitchen is a wonderful space to cook, work and entertain. The only real downside is that the bathroom is incredibly cold in January as the window is fixed to be permanently open. Having said all this, be sure to book your entire stay on Homeaway upfront. Despite our longstanding written agreement (by email) that I would be occupying the flat for four months (I am on sabbatical in Berkeley), the owner managed to double-book the apartment for the latter portion of my stay, and made me move out after only four weeks. While she was apologetic, the resulting inconvenience has had a lasting negative impact on my time in Berkeley.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Stayed at Bonita for 4+ months while I relocated to Berkeley from the East Coast. Was a great location to explore the city. One can get anywhere without a car, however, there is a parking space with the apartment which was very convenient in that neighborhood. There is a deck that faces the San Francisco bay. The sunset is amazing from the view as well as breakfast our doors in the morning. The place has a big yard for a dog, ours was always roaming around, very happy. This is a wonderful place too explore Berkeley for either a short or long stay!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I work for a local company that brings a lot of contract workers from out of town for 1-2 months; I'm the one with the job of finding furnished apartments for them within walking distance of downtown Berkeley. This apartment (and the one downstairs) are easily my first choices when I we need something more than a hotel room. The apartment is charming, homey, and tastefully decorated; the landlords are highly responsive. There's laundry in the basement, parking in the back, Trader Joe's on the corner, and the Shattuck Avenue restaurants just a few blocks away -- who could ask for more? I'll also say that the value offered here is really great -- for this location, with these amenities, it's a find! My executives really like staying here; I really like working with these landlords...the only reason I hesitate to write a glowing review is it means it's less likely I'll be able to get in when I need it! But seriously -- if you're here to visit friends in the Berkeley area (or on campus) this is a great place to stay.
