Dragoon, Arizona
We are located on one acre in the historic little town of Dragoon (pop. 200), about an hour east of Tucson and 3 miles off the I-10. Our property borders trust land which affords unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains and desert which you can enjoy from the private patio.
Though the tiny house is off grid except for the luxury of electricity (heat, A/C, etc.), there is a nicely equipped kitchenette (microwave, hotplate, cookware and dishware, french press, complimentary teas and coffee, and a small fridge). Additionally, a very comfy double bed, robes, linens, and an indoor r/v toilet. The best part is the very private outdoor hot shower!
Rest for a night while traveling or plan a SE Arizona getaway. For wine lovers, we are on the Willcox Wine Trail which consists of over 15 local wineries and tasting rooms. Hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking are very popular here since we are about a half hour from Cochise Stronghold (home of Apache chief Cochise), and an hour from the Chiricahua Nat’l Monument. For a true wild west experience, visit historic Tombstone, only 45 minutes away and just down the road is the beautiful Amerind Museum with a wonderful gift shop and picnic area.
Whatever your agenda, our guest's comfort and privacy are our priorities.
* Please note: We have a 5 night maximum
Our weekend at Tracy’s was amazing. The property is very private, but welcoming. It is impeccably clean. We loved grilling outside while watching the many birds who visit. The outdoor shower was a fun “glamping.” touch. We bbq’d, played horseshoes, and later sat out under the night stars. It made for a great weekend getaway. Thanks Tracy!
I’ve done the long haul drive between California and Texas more than a dozen times and this is by far the best spot I’ve ever experienced to get a good night’s rest after a long day of driving. Tracy is kind and communicative; the location is not too far off of I-10; cell service is clear, and the lodging itself is delightfully comfortable, cozy, and charming. The tiny house is on a migratory bird pathway, so I thoroughly enjoyed watching the birds flying through as I had my breakfast. There are freight trains that go by, as another review mentioned, but they are infrequent after 11pm and there are earplugs made available inside the house- I didn’t find it a problem at all and I’m a light sleeper. This will certainly not be my last stay!
Nice unit which is actually a storage unit. But owner added nice touches. Good value but only full size bed and outhouse with inside mini toilet only good for #1 use. Be aware that train train tracks are with 1/2 mile and run through the night. Hard to sleep through noise of trains scrapping on metal tracks.
Check in process was easy. The place was nice and cozy and we enjoyed our nights stay. We would definitely stay again.
We traveled to Arizona from Colorado for a wedding and this was a perfect place to stay for a fair price, will definitely book again if we’re back in the area.
The bed was comfortable, and we had the conveniences of the small kitchen, table, chairs, a shower and heat -- a big step up from winter camping with a tent, which is what we did for the second half of our time in the Dragoon Mountains. Tracy was first-rate in attentiveness and kindness.
Perfect location for Exploring Apache lands especially coaches stronghold from Tucson. The coffee was fantastic. The view was beautiful. The outdoor shower is fun. The view from the shower is epic.
We stayed here while moving cross country and it was the perfect place to recharge for the night. We had a moving truck and were also towing a car and were able to park with no trouble. The place was super clean and the sunrise was stunning. The hosts were communicative and friendly. We had nice outdoor showers in the morning and got on our way! Would definitely stay again if we find ourselves in the area.
Quiet and centrally located —hike, visit Tombstone or Bisbee, go wine tasting...
This tiny house was perfect for me. It was quiet, except for the many trains, which I quite enjoyed. I love the high desert, finding it beautiful even in winter. It was clean, nice furnishings, and charming. The hosts, Pete and Tracy, were very responsive, friendly, and fun to talk to. I will definitely stay here again!
