Stayed Oct 24, 2025Property was not up to general standards. We read a previous review and thought it was a bit harsh but booked anyway. Unfortunately the previous review was spot on. The bathroom while technically under the one roof was outside so you had to unlock the door to get out there at night. None of the doors stayed closed unless they were key locked and there were multiple keys to sort through. The kitchen, lounge and bedroom lights were all one switch.

Stayed Oct 6, 2025This is my third stay at the Funky Shack. Accessible to everything. The pillows on the bed are quite plump and firm so, if that's not to your liking, maybe bring your own.

Stayed Sep 19, 2025To start with, there is no pedestrian entry so ou have to open the garage gate to enter and because the gate was not done properly, you cannot just open one side, you have to open both sides to get in. Next the front door does not have a door knob - just a lock. You cannot shut the front door from the outside without locking it. If you like living in a goldfish bowl, you'll like it. You can't get changed in the room at night because you can see straight through to the whole unit. The curtains are all see-through so, at night, with the lights on, you do not have any privacy. There is one light switch that controls all the lights in the unit - i.e. either all on or all off. The switch is in the kitchen so if you need to turn lights off, you have to walk over there. Only one of the bedside lamps was working. The other didn't have a bulb. To swap them, you have to climb under the bed to get to the extension cord and it looked like that hadn't been cleaned (quite dusty). The bathroom/toilet is out on the patio - again no privacy. It is a very basic shower/toilet. Imagine a cheap motel and it was like that only not as good.We had booked for 5 days - we checked in on Friday and stayed there for 2 nights. We stayed with friends on the Sunday and handed the keys back on Monday morning.
