Fantastic apartment for 4 to 8 people with pool on the beach front

Very well situated on a quiet end of a perfect family beach, with clear shallow water. Very well equipped, clean apartment and Carlos was a responsive and kind host. Great local restaurants too - the one at the back of the apartment block had a fantastic set lunch menu for just €12.50.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the apartment is really spacious with a lovely terrace leading onto the (quiet) communal pool. The pool is big enough to swim in but small enough to be naturally warm even in late May (day after rain). The pool area leads straight onto the promenade and onto the beach - no road between the apartment and the beach so super safe for kids- the restaurants supermarket and bakery are a short level stroll along the beach away. My husband, myself and our two sons (aged 6 and 23 months) had a lovely time at this property. The pool was just outside our terrace and the beach just across the sidewalk. Many lovely restaurants within a short walk, parks along the beach, plus the exceptional Meridien Ra spa next door -- cannot be beat. Carlos helped us coordinate a babysitter (Lydia) who came several nights to spend time with our boys, so my husband and I could enjoy the spa next door, and have a few dinners out without kids! We also took a trip to a nearby vineyard, which was fantastic for ourselves and interesting for the kids. The rooms were modest but functional. Truthfully, we were only inside for naps and bed, so it did not need to be luxurious. The fully equipped kitchen and nearby grocery stores helped ensure that we could feed the kids the food they liked (we have picky eaters) and we saved a fortune not needing to eat all of our meals out. The laundry facilities in the apartment made it so we could pack light, we were two weeks out of the country and only had one small checked bag. Being able to cook do laundry and have a babysitter so we could have adult time made this a perfect family friendly, couple friendly vacation. We love Calafell, also, it is fantastic for children. The beach is expansive, the tide is typically gentle, the sand is great for building sand castles. The many playgrounds along the beach are a novelty for our boys. The area is very accommodating of children. This is among our favorite beach (also up there are Wailea in Maui, and St Pete's in Florida) destinations with the family.

We stayed here with our two boys last week and loved it. Carlos is a fantastic and incredibly helpful and welcoming host, and made the booking and trip a joy. The apartment is spacious and pleasant and the pool is fantastic - great shallow end for the kids, lots of room to swim, jump and splash about. The location is great too - literally across the road from a great beach, and only 10 minutes walk from the town with shops, bars and restaurants. It's easy to get to - we got the train from Barcelona and a short taxi from the train station (it's about a 15 min walk). Do-able without a car, but probably easier with one. Would happily recommend this place.
