Location was great. Beautiful surroundings. Cabin overall was clean and very comfortable. It is a cute (older) cabin and it met our needs very well. The bathroom, specifically tub/shower, is very old and grout and flooring very worn which gives a bit of an impression that it is not clean. For some, this could be an issue so just something to keep in mind that routinely comes along with an older cabin.

I stayed with my family in July 2024. Despite having a bathroom sink handle break during our stay which required a plumber to be onsite for a couple hours, the overall stay was pleasant. The location was fantastic and the home very clean. Aside from the AC units in kitchen and master bedroom, all windows are essentially locked, so if you have aspirations of getting a lake breeze into the home while you stay, it’s not likely to happen. The home has an older feel to it, but it was fine for my family as we were just happy to be somewhere beautiful together. The owner was onsite during the entire duration of the stay and was pleasant when interacting with. This wasn’t a problem for us, however, it should be noted that there is a reduction of privacy that results when this is the case as it was not uncommon to cross paths in common areas, including the beach. It was obviously helpful when issues arose. Beach area is beautiful and water fairly clean and clear. My kids jumped off the dock and enjoyed playing in the shallow areas of the lake. Although depicted in photos, a canoe is not a part of the booking. Owner was kind enough to provide a canoe to us upon request given it was a primary factor in our booking. Unfortunately during our stay my 7 year old son slipped in the shower. The bathtub only has 3 small pieces of grip tape, and I did make a direct recommendation to the owner that the tub should be addressed to prevent future issues like this happening to others.

We had a very relaxing weekend with an amazing view. Great weather. Spent time on the lake and deck. Watched the eagles and loons. Our lodging worked perfectly for the 4 of us. Very clean! Dave was available to answer any questions. We appreciated his helpfulness.Thank you for a memorable week!

Looking for a quiet quite spacious place to unwind and unplug? This place was just that. Beautiful view of the lake. There’s just enough of a sandy beach to build a sand castle. The lake was clear, even at the end of August. There’s a roomy kitchen with a nice table spot for meals or to play games. The fireplace is enjoyable in the cozy living room where you can also see the lake. Beds were firm and the bedding comfortable. Very clean place. The owner was very kind and friendly. It felt very much like a getaway while still being very close to St. Germaine and restaurants and cafes. Lovely stay.

Cozy place, view over the lake was breathtaking, cooked on the charcoal grill, fished off the dock (unfortunately nothing was biting). Owner filled the fire pit with sticks which made it easy to get the fire started. We did have to purchase firewood as there was none on site & the bed was more firm than we are used to. However, overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again... Hopefully for longer than a weekend.

No bath towels, no hand towels, no kitchen towels. Bedroom wall was stained and looked really gross. Pillows smelled musty. Linens are ancient. Spare toilet paper was moist and moldy. Floor is caving in behind the toilet.

I stayed here for a week, my sister joined me for the last few days. We chose this location for easy access to multiple bike trails in the area (excellent for this!). Positives: 1) No car/road noise; lovely location. 2) Loons calling nightly, hummingbirds flitting around. 3) Well stocked kitchen, although stove had gas leak problems (resolved). 4) Garage space available for bike storage out of elements. 5) Back porch was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the lake view and nice weather. 6) Plenty of comfortable indoor seating. 7) Picnic table is smooth--good work surface outdoors. 8) Firm, supportive beds. 9) Owner on-site was very nice. Negatives: 1) Communication was nonexistent with guest contact and the property manager (Evolve). Only automated check-in info was sent (which was wrong, couldn't get in door when I arrived). Specific queries sent to both channels went ignored. When a problem arose with a stove gas leak, the guest contact did not pick up his phone, nor provide an opportunity to leave a message (they were camping with weak cell signal). We ended up shutting off the gas at the main valve. The guest contact then texted me at 11pm after I'd gone to bed to find out what happened. Owner cleaned the stove burners the next day, but the lack of reachability for the emergency guest contact in a situation like this was not acceptable. 2) The listing specifically states that a canoe/kayak is available, and shows a picture of a canoe on the dock. This is not true. A large rowboat is available. The canoe is not. 3 specific inquiries were sent about this prior to our arrival, and they were ignored. Felt deceptive, since the canoe/kayak was one of the reasons I chose this place to rent. 3) The lighting in the living room is very dim--almost impossible to read or craft by. I did my reading on the back porch. 4) Only Verizon has significant cell coverage out here. My T-mobile phone could not load websites, so I was unable to load maps or weather reports. No WiFi (known), but don't count on using your phone as a hotspot unless you have Verizon. 5) Listing says coin laundry--you need to go into town to the laundromat. Not on-site. Conclusion: I got by for this week, using the library in Eagle River for internet access for working and loading documents to my phone/iPad for offline work, and using cell signal when in towns when possible. Due to the negatives listed above, however, I would probably not choose to stay here again.

We rented this cabin for a kayaking vacation. It was a very nice northwoods cabin. Not a 5-star hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. One room has a double bed the other has 2 twins and I think the couches pull out. The owner was very nice and asked more than once if we were having a good time. The living room has big windows that overlook Dam lake and a nice porch that does also. The kitchen has a big table with a nice bank of windows. It is a bright and cheery place. The owner had picked up big sticks and stacked them by the fire pit for us. Just down Dam Lake road, a fun man was selling firewood. He came out to talk and gave us free kindling too. We used the weber grill that was available and it was in excellent condition. It was a little cold and windy to kayak but we did get out a few times. We also had a good time shopping in the nearby towns.
