Property was clean and as advertised. Great for a day or two retreat from the stresses of home.
My wife and i enjoyed the weekend getaway. Nice cozy place and quaint friendly town.
Great accommodations with all of the comforts located in a nice location conveniently close to historic Essex village attractions and restaurants. Beautiful views of the river marina and coves.
Our stay was great. We had everything we needed for our visit. You can’t beat the location in Essex. Don’t hesitate to grab this one, if you are considering this area for your vacation. Karen and her husband are amazing hosts!
This sweet cottage in Essex was the perfect getaway. I chose to go away for some R&R and couldn’t have been happier. The cottage is clean, quaint, quiet and walking distance to downtown Essex. The place was extremely quiet. The owners were so attentive and such lovely people. The bed was so comfortable. The view of the harbor was lovely as well. I stayed for 9 days and could have stayed longer if it was available. This was my first time in this area of Connecticut. So many beautiful little towns close by. This is a true gem of a find. I can’t say enough about my positive experience. I will be back. Thank you for being such great hosts and making my stay so enjoyable. Best, Heidi Kent
I can’t believe that we were able to get this place at the last minute! We will certainly return next time we are in Connecticut visiting my brother in Chester. So convenient!! But most importantly, what a beautiful and unique property. So many special touches . The reclining chairs by the picture window in the bedroom had the best view of a lighthouse and the water. There was even a telescope to enjoy the view. I found myself wishing for a rainstorm to go through so we could just sit there and watch. Just our luck, we had perfect weather both days. The garden was beautiful, filled with roses.. so tranquil. The town of Essex is adorable and walkable. Many cute shops , I recommend the Chocolate Geeks for their Truffle Shots! OMG! I i recommend this place, and can’t wait for an excuse to get back to Connecticut!
Beautiful in all respects. Exquisite view of harbor. Walking distance to 3 wonderful restaurants and many unique shops . The fact that it is 2 stories may make it difficult for some people. One of the few places that we plan to visit again !
My husband and I love the apartment, it is clean, beautiful, decorated with a beautiful rustic style. We also love the environment and area, our stay was only 3 nights and 4 days, so we did not explore as much as we liked to, but enough to know the area to get around. We do plan to go back as I like to spend more days there writing and working on my decorating because everyone needs a regular get away and this is my perfect spot in Conn., as we normally have to drive to Vermont and New Hampshire to capture this experience we look for as in Log Cabins, rustic cottage homes and beautiful areas etc. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience and we hope to be back soon. It’s was our wedding anniversary and we wanted to go somewhere nice to relax. This is the perfect little town to be at if you are looking for that. We had the perfect view from our bedroom window, magical you can say. We didn’t need to use our car since we got there. Everything is at walking distance: restaurant, water front coffee shops….. I will go again without thinking twice!! Would like to thank the owners who stayed next door, they made sure we were good and we didn’t need anything!!
We’ve been to Essex a few times. This location is right in the middle of everything. If you can’t book the Gris this is next best or even better. Walk to Black seal. Dauntless. Carlsons. The Gris.
We stayed here for an anniversary getaway and it was perfect. Great location to restaurants and great views overlooking the marina. The apartment is super cute complete with all the right details. Recommend 1000%!
