The place was in a great location, clean atmosphere, friendly neighbors, and just overall good vibes!!
A wonderful stay!
Loved our week-long stay at the Island Inn. We LOVED Kim and Kelly and everyone at the tennis club especially! Such a welcoming bunch. The room was good for our family of three and we loved the daily housekeeping and available pool towels, plus the kitchen and use of the laundry. Very handy. Beach access is a bit of a walk but the bus is handy. Parking in MV in the summer can be no fun, so bikes are a great idea. Yes, like others we could hear the folks in the room above us bumping and thumping about (sometimes awfully early in the morning) but it’s a great value and we expected it.
Overall it worked out well for us. The room was a little dated, but clean. We had a dog with us and the room was appropriate for having a pet. The little kitchen was clean and stocked with clean dishes, etc. The place was close to a restaurant called Nomans, which was quite good, with a relaxed atmosphere. The pool was nice. It was fenced off and the enclosure was clean and well maintained. The grounds were perfect for walking the dog, and they had complimentary dog bags and trash receptacles in various locations. The location was nicely situated between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. The cleaning staff was excellent, however with a dog it was hard to plan the day if we wanted to have a meal and leave her in the room because they cleaned different times each day, some days before 12pm and other days closer to 5pm. However, the staff who cleaned the rooms did an excellent job and were very nice. The biggest criticism would be around the tennis courts (club). When we booked the room the tennis courts were featured in photos, the description, etc. The reality is that they were not included, and would cost us an additional $18 per person each time we would want to play. Apparently it is a tennis club within the place but not affiliated. This was falsely advertised. Also, the tennis courts were directly behind our building and the people coming to play (not Guests) took Guest parking spots. The woman who ran the tennis club had a small dog off leash who we always afraid we would hit because the parking was precarious at best. As far as customer service, the woman who checked us in was lovely. She saw it was my birthday on my driver’s license and gave me some complimentary chocolate covered Oreos. My husband went into the office several times for coffee and felt it was generally a pleasant experience, however a couple of the employees (both male) did not greet him and he overheard them having unprofessional conversations around a wedding and with the tennis club manager about someone having an accident with their car. Again, overall all good experience, but they definitely have opportunities to improve some things.
We appreciated how clean the studio was and the regular cleaning that was available. The unit had everything we needed for our week's stay. Everything was in pretty good shape, if not barely used. The beds and linens were clean and comfy, and the bright color of the walls was a nice touch. The only issue was noise from upstairs, lots of hard footsteps back and forth in early morning and at bedtime. The area is nice for couples and families (clay top tennis, lounging pool, toss the bean lawn game, and fire pit with Adirondack chairs for nighttime socializing. The staff are amazingly pleasant, friendly and helpful (the best part).
All the amenities and comfy beds!
Clean and close proximity to towns. Just what we needed
The room was very clean and staff was very friendly.
Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with utensils, plates, and even a blender. There are grilles on site and the pool is clean and refreshing after a long day at the beach. Definitely recommend staying here. Convenient place to stay between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs
Great spacey room with all the things you need.. kitchen table and nice tub for kids. The swimming pool and fire pit added to our fun
It was clean and in a great location! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The only thing that we wished there had been was a full length mirror. But otherwise, I highly recommend this place!!
It was very clean and well maintained. Had a nice location and was easy to get around
