Designer Downtown Condo Suite - Splendid View

Right in the middle of downtown Des Moines. Walking distance to Wells Fargo arena. Botanical garden nearby. Instructions to enter were clear, and once inside, everything was perfect. The bed is amazing. I love a firm bed. No wiggle transfer when you change positions. The floor is a bit cold, so bring slippers! The street is a bit loud. Perfect view of the sunrise!!

This was a lovely place to stay! It’s beautifully decorated, super clean, & in a gorgeous old building. The location was perfect for attending an event at the Iowa Events Center. It was a short .4 mile walk that was so simple even a directionally-challenged person like myself couldn’t mess it up. It was also an easy walk (2ish blocks) to HyVee if you need groceries. A couple of minor drawbacks— parking nearby first, then getting into the building, getting keys from a lockbox, getting your car and parking in the garage, getting from garage through the teeniest spiral staircase (I am a small person (5’4”, 120lb) and it was tight) and then finding the room was a bit of a challenge for the directionally-challenged, which, as I mentioned earlier, is me. However, the owner has it all very clearly laid out, with pictures. But the door code had changed since I last saw my messages (entirely my fault) and all of the codes and directions are in different spots in the app, so getting into the building was a little frazzling at first. A very kind tenant helped me! So my advice is simply to have all of that prepared ahead of time (a list of the codes and directions) and it will be a breeze. Other minor things - getting out of the parking ramp was a tight squeeze for my SUV, and there was quite a bit of street/wind noise. All worth it, because this was a wonderful place to stay. The owners have clearly worked hard to make it a great experience. I only wish I had it for more than one night!

Very comfortable studio apartment in a great location with handy parking nearby.

Clean, closed to bars and restaurants, good view of downtown.

The apartment is very clean and cute. Loved the shower and the decor. Getting the key fob was a chore. I am barely over five foot tall and couldn't reach the lockbox. Also, I wouldn't suggest using the parking space unless you are young and small. The spiral staircase is tiny. Tall people or people with bad knees or whatever would find it very difficult to use. The space is charming, but the bed was very squeaky. The cute fireplace did not work. The location is ideal for downtown evevts and using skywalk. The price was right.

Everything was very secure, we felt very safe. If you can follow instructions it’s a peace of cake. Next time we are in Des Moine we will be calling.

It was our second stay and we plan to return next year. The apartment is excellent.

Everything was amazing!

This is a spacious and roomy apartment...bright with plenty of windows. The full kitchen + washer and dryer were a big plus for our five night stay. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is fully stocked with everything you might need. It is only one block to a full-service grocery/drug market. There are dozens of great restaurants within a few blocks. The off-street parking is secure. We were completely impressed.

Clean, cute, just like the photos. A bit complicated with parking garage and key fob and codes, etc. The apartment is a good mile from “East Village” though so there was lots of walking involved to the other side of the river…. I would suggest more amenities to offer. There were 4 kurig cups of coffee for the two of us for a 2 night stay, had to run to Hyvee and buy more! Added touches go a long way with VRBO stays, this was more bare bones. But I’d still recommend it to others as long as you know it’s a 9th floor studio in the heart of downtown!

The building had a great old charm to it. The location is amazing and centered close to bars and restaurants. The place was clean and charming. The property manager was great, walked us through finding the keys and parking which was very helpful. He also always answered the phone, was attentive and even offered some restaurant choices
