We stayed for 2 weeks . The apartment is located in the historic city center that has a coffee bar at every corner and does not have the same mob of tourist like Florence. Prato was a delightful town with easy transportation (train and bus) to anywhere you want to go. The apartment, which was a wine cellar built in the 1500 has a historic feel it. The apartment was nice and cozy with basic amenities. We cooked a lot at the apartment as the local grocery store was a block away that had fresh produce and an excellent selection of wines. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance.

This is a two bedroom apartment on the first floor (i.e. one level up).The stairs are wide with railings and the stairs are in good condition. The entry is secured and you are safe within the building (which is two storeys high). That said, Prato and the Datini Apartments area is very safe. The two bedrooms are quite large with large Queen size beds with clothing cupboards, desk and chair and TV in each. The TVs are Smart TVs so you can use your apps (we were also able to access Netflix and Prime free among a wide range of apps). Free to air Italian TV is also available. The bathroom is a good size with shower (above head on roof shower head and hand held both available in an in bath arrangement). The taps simple to use. Good size sink and mirror and all the toiletries you might need.Toilet and bidet. The kitchen and dining area, while compact include all your cooking needs. Gas cook top and oven. Large refrigerator. Kettle, toaster, microwave oven, Italian coffee expresso makers with coffee provided (3 sizes). All the cutlery, plates and glasses etc that you need are available. The dining table has four chairs. There is a good size laundry with washing machine, sink, iron and ironing board. There is an outdoor setting on a verandah out the back. In a great location - this lovely apartment 150 metres from St Francesco Piazza with supermarket, restaurants. Francesco the owner is a great host. Generous with his time and information. Thank you so much Francesco.

Francesco was great to work with. He met us upon arrival and checked in with us during our stay to see what if we needed anything. Very accommodating. Apartment was beautiful, especially enjoyed the patio and fully functional kitchen. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I stayed at Francesco's apartment for 4 nights when we went to visit Florence. The place is not in the center of Florence, but 25 minutes in train from Prato. We didn't know Prato, but it was a beautiful town, easy to walk, with several shops, churches, a castle and many restaurants. The food was great and the vibe of the town fenomenal. Also, Francesco greet us at his place, and gave us great suggestions during our visit. We will definitely stay with him again if we return to Florence some day.

Francesco and the Datini Apartment provided my cousin and me with the perfect ending to our Italy vacation. Francesco met us as we got out of our taxi which was a very short ride from the train station. He walked us around the apartment and left us lots of maps and reading material about the area. The apartment had everything we needed to settle in. Francesco left us water bottles, and a bottle of wine. The bathroom was well supplied with toiletries. The kitchen was stocked with spices and coffee, as well as detergent and cleansers. It was great having a washing machine and clothes rack to dry. The outdoor space was our oasis in the mornings and afternoons. We loved getting to know our neighborhood and where we could stop for a morning cappuccino. We can’t wait to return!!

A wonderful, comfortable, and centrally located apartment in a town with a long and significant history. Easy walk to major attractions, restaurants, pasticcerie, and cafes. We immediately felt at home here. Both bedrooms were spacious and well lit, with good cross ventilation. Everything in the apartment worked well, good water pressure, plenty of hot water, and enough kitchen equipment to prepare meals, although Prato has an abundance of excellent restaurants. Francesco provided a secure private garage nearby as well a permit to travel through ZTL areas. But the highlight to our stay was the service and assistance provided by our host, Francesco. Not only was he easily accessible to coordinate the usual problems of getting into an apartment rental, he assisted us when we had an issue with our car on the day of our departure. Without going into detail, Francesco provided hours of assistance that day and many hours during the following ten days helping us resolve this problem. He provided this help without being asked to do so. Over the last ten years, we have stayed in dozens of apartments in Spain, France, and mostly Italy, and this was without a doubt above and beyond anything we have experienced. We loved Prato and will be returning for a week, at least, but the primary reason for returning is our host and now good friend, Francesco.
