This is an off the beaten path hideaway location at the end of a private unpaved road. It overlooks the tidal St George river in the heart of Wyeth country. See eagles, ospreys, herons and other waterfowl from the big living room picture window. There is a small private dock where you can sit and watch the lobster boats hauling their traps. The apt has a small but fully functional kitchen with a full sized gas stove and all the pots and pands you need to cook your own meals, including lobsters!
The couch in the living room opens into a futon bed. And in the bedroom there is also a loveseat sized couch that opens up to sleep one person.
Wifi and tv provided.
There is a tidal cove where you can launch a kayak or canoe depending on the stage of the tide.
Nearby are the Langlais Sculpture Park and the world-renowned Olson House, the inspiration for Andrew Wyeth's iconic painting Christina's World. There is also an official geocache on the property!

Bob is an excellent host. We arrived later than planned. He communicated with us so we knew how to get in. The light and heat were on for us when we arrived. The space was bigger than I expected. There's a small kitchen, living room, bathroom, and a decent size bedroom. There's a futon in the living room. Probably would be great for a kid. There's a smart TV too but I don't know why you'd need it with the giant windows and beautiful views. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable. There were plenty of clean towels and blankets/sheets available if we needed them. Be aware that the road is a dirt road and may be difficult to navigate if your vehicle has less clearance than the average car. We had a truck so no problems there! Plenty of hot water, a decent size shower. The place was pretty clean. A few cobwebs occupied the corners and ceilings, but we didn't mind those much. It is the Maine woods after all. Great view of the river! Very quiet! Would definitely go back. Another thing to consider when booking is that this is above a garage so there's an indoor flight of stairs up to the apartment.

There is a long wooded driveway to the apartment and a stairway inside the door up to the area with kitchen, bath, bedroom, dining and living space. Big windows look out through trees to the George river. The owner lobster man is accommodating and talkative. We loved it!!

Finding accommodation proved a bit surprising. First we missed the street sign as it was somewhat overgrown and then discovered that the access was actually a one lane two track gravel and grass driveway. You definitely have peace and quiet at this location. The owner is very nice and the property is just as described.

If you're looking to get away from it all and feel like you're staying in a tree house near the ocean, this little spot is for you. The location was perfect for us as we were visiting friends in the neighboring town. Since the apartment is above the garage and the windows are big, it felt like we were amongst the treetops. We saw bald eagles both mornings we were there. Bob was friendly and showed us around when we first arrived. The apartment is small and was fine for our two nights. It definitely could have been cleaner and the linens could have been fresher. It would also be nice if the kitchen had more and better pots, pans and dishes. The fridge is small so be aware of that if you're planning on bringing a lot of food. All in all, it was a good stay.
