Cozy vacation home - Vaccarizzo Beach Garden

I will start with the good, the linens and grounds were clean. The pictures did not quite give an accurate depiction, but that is normal with these things. When we arrived, the owner was very nice. He showed us the building we would be staying in. The property lists 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.......however there were 2 bedrooms and only one bathroom in the house. To get to the second bedroom we had to walk through the first bedroom and the shared bathroom to get to the second bedroom. Because we were traveling with a friend, this was an awkward layout. The 3rd bedroom and bathroom could be reached by going outside across a courtyard to reach it. The facility was appeared to be clean. We were unable to stay however because the perfume from the cleaning products was so STRONG that we all started having allergic reactions. We called the host's daughter, who spoke English, and she was not willing to refund our moneys, and told us we had to contact VRBO. We drove away, knowing we could not sleep in these smells. In fact the taste of the perfume remained on our tongues for over an hour after we left. Had the smells not been so strong, we would have stayed, but having a headache for 3 days, in order to stay in this facility was not worth it to us. VRBO initially said, of course we would be reimbursed....however the second person we spoke with said we had to get our reimbursement from the owner....who is not willing to reimburse us for NO use of the property.
