Cozy studio in Andersonville Chicago

Pros: Clean. Safe. Walkable to shops, restaurants, and grocery. Owner lives upstairs. Very nice family. Cons: There is a step inside the room, between the couch and the kitchen/sitting area. It is not in any photos. I was scared the whole time that I'd trip. The steps down to the door aren't safe either. Concrete. No handrail. Easy to bump your head on the stairs overhead. Lock on outside door very hard to open. Had to jiggle it exactly right to open. No WiFi, even with the name and password. TV didn't work. Finally found that if I sat on the bed I could connect to data. Told owner. He re-sent the name and password. Air conditioner was very loud. Overall: Great location. That's why I rented his room. But the steps inside and outside make it so I would never go back.

Great studio apartment. Needed just one night and worth the price. Would recommend.

There are lots of good restaurants and bars within easy walkable distance. The bed was great, but the pillows were too hard for my taste. Also, the wifi didn't work for most of the stay and I had a hard time reaching the host about it.

I booked this because I wanted something walkable to the Riveria theater, which this was. Room was very cute and clean and had everything i needed. The wifi network and password i was given did not work so I couldn't use the tv at all.

It was a great location, internet was a little spotty on streaming services but we were in walking distance to so much it was worth it

The space was great for us. Didn’t realize it was a basement unit. Maybe that was on us? It didn’t really matter that much though. Super clean and in a really fun location to explore. We had flight issues so we missed out on two nights. The proprietor worked with us for one of the nights so that was appreciated. Great, timely and spot on communication. Helped us with a WiFi problem. Saw that was an issue with another commenter. I wouldn’t let it dissuade you. Would stay again. Very enjoyable.

There is an electric problem, so don't plug in the space heater on the same wall as the fireplace, you will blow the fuse. I didn't risk it again, so i turned off the fireplace when i had to blow my hair dry. The wifi doesn't work AT ALl, and you are in a garden unit so you don't get cellular service either. No TV and no phone, nothing. Yiu can't even order an uber from the unit. We let the owner know, nothing happened.The residence upstairs are loud and you can hear them bang around and walk all night.There is no washer and dryer.The area was fun, it is in a great spot and was fairly clean.

Perfect little spot for a weekend trip. Great communication and very clean. 2 minute walk from the Andersonville main road

This is my second time staying here and it’s such a nice little place. Very clean and just what you need if you’re exploring Chicago. Property owner is easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend staying here

Great hospitality

Superb set up for a little basement vrbo. Private entrance with keys in lock box, small but perfectly functional kitchen, nice bed and cute little couch and table. Hosts were excellent and messaged to let me know when the unit was ready offering an early check in if I wanted it and were super accommodating about a very last min request for a late check out. Unit was nice and warm between wall heater, fire place, and space heater. My only recommendation is there was a bit of a draft from under the front door you could feel on your feet if you were standing in front of the door that I think one of those rubber door sweep attachments could fix.

Perfect for our quick little overnight in Chicago. Close to the main area of Andersonville. Surprisingly easy to find parking too. No idea if that is always true, but it was much easier than we've experienced when coming to town.

We arrived late in the evening and we were still able to find on street parking. The sidewalks had been shoveled and access was easy. The unit had an fireplace that was amazing and warmed us up immediately after a long cold day! Everything was clean and neat. There were two coffee options Keurig or drip and creamer was provided. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We’ll definitely plan on staying again when we visit family.

Great room and host

We stayed one night and definitely recommend for one or two persons. The studio was very clean, organized, and amenities updated. The air-conditioning was a little loud but for us acted more as white noise. The surrounding tenants could be quietly heard periodically and were not disruptive. We didnt use the TV, so I cannot comment on that. The wifi was a little spotty but worked well. The neighborhood and shops near by are fabulous. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

This cozy studio was absolutely adorable!! Tucked away in a cute neighborhood! Very peaceful! It was perfect for my daughter and I to enjoy a night in Chicago!

The place was great — clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near restaurants and a grocery store. I used to live in Chicago and stayed here for a quick visit; it was perfect for that. The host was friendly and responsive through the app, which made check-in easy.One note: the Wi-Fi is quite weak. I had to reschedule a few work calls because of it, so if you’re planning to work remotely for several days, you may want to find a nearby Starbucks or another spot with stronger internet.

I checked in pretty late at night and had to call the property manager, he was really nice and responsive despite the time that I called him. My only suggestion would be to put a picture of the exterior door as there are multiple entrances to the building. 5 stars though!

Nice comfortable remodel. Entrance is suboptimal(hard to navigate with a suitcase). Parking difficult(road construction on Olive St. )

Small, but perfect for an overnight stay

I stayed here for a solo trip, the place looks just like the pictures. Check in was easy, parking was semi easy. There was construction going on down the block so a lot of spots were unavailable but I was still able to park. The place is very cute & comfy. The WiFi was a little spotty in the beginning as the other reviews stated but it ended up getting better. Neighborhood is walkable, lots of restaurants/bars in the area.

Place was fairly accurate as advertised. Good amount of space. Convenient to many things and very accommodating host. Unfortunately, the air conditioning didnt work during my stay, but it never got unbearable.100% agreed with other reviews that the internet was not good.

We had a great experience here. It’s located on a street with free parking. The place was very clean, clean sheets, clean towels, floors were clean, everything looked nice and well kept. We were just in town for a show at the theater and it was a perfect little place to stay that wasn’t too far from the city. We actually locked ourselves out at one point and the owner was so sweet and helpful. Highly recommend staying here!

We love staying the Andersonville/Edgewater area when visiting Chicago. The location was great for walking to some of our favorite breweries. Would definitely recommend and book again!

We really enjoyed our short stay in Chicago. Went to the beach, riverwalk and other sights in Chicago and Cubs baseball game at historic Wrigley Field!

Overall, this was overpriced and somewhat inaccurate. It was in a basement, and there should be pictures included of the entrance to the building and entrance to the studio. The keys were missing when we got there, but property manager responded quickly. The AC worked but wasn’t blowing very cold air, it felt damp in the unit. There were some ants and we had no food in the unit. As it was in a basement, we could hear people above us (music, footsteps) but fortunately the AC drowned out most of the noise. The neighborhood is wonderful and we needed to stay in Andersonville. But if you have a car, parking on the street is very difficult. Again, it was ok, I feel it was overpriced for the accommodations.

Accurately described online. Two things that prevented a 5 star overall: the K-cup style coffee maker leaked all over the counter (Couldn't use it), and the other carafe style coffee maker wasn't clean. The other thing is that the raised floor for the dining area dropped off right in front of the kitchen sink - it is a very big tripping hazard.

Super clean and efficient studio. The bed was comfortable. It is in the basement, so be prepared to hear footsteps upstairs. The kitchen is stocked with dishes and some cookware and coffee pot, but there are no basic food items (oil, morning coffee supply, etc). We weren’t planning to cook, but if you are, make sure you bring everything necessary.

Super cute, easy to get to, parking can be hard to find but it is free in the street. It was quiet but lots to do downtown a block or two away.

Near Swedish Hospital and Clarke St. Nice neighborhood to walk in.
