OUR COMMENT

An utterly charming apartment with eye-level canal views - in a vibrant, central and endlessly fascinating part of town.

A few steps away from the 18th-century church of Santa Maria Della Fava and close to a host of famous sights and attractions including the atmospheric Venetian time-capsule that is the Querini Stampalia, the fabulous Palazzo Grimani just off Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the Church of San Zaccaria with its crypt and wonderful Bellini altarpiece, and Vivaldi’s La Pietà on the sunny Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront…

… A short stroll towards a very sedate pace of life lived out amongst the tranquil calles, canals and green spaces of Castello with its laid-back and very genuine neighbourhood vibe…

… Or rise with the lark to embrace the atmosphere of St. Mark’s Square (‘the Piazza’) gloriously near-empty before its visitors arrive… or visit at night when the orchestras of Quadri and Florian play*, the bells of the Campanile (bell tower) toll, the marble of the Doge’s Palace glows, and the mosaics of the Basilica shimmer in the darkness…

Close to a host of shops, restaurants and bars including the much-lauded Alle Testiere, the upmarket Bistrot de Venise and Alle Corone of the nearby Hotel Reali, the charming Osteria Al Portego (delicious cicheti!) and Osteria Ae Sconte, plus Ristorante Santa Maria Formosa with its tables on the campo.

Also within easy reach of 4 well-stocked supermarkets – a Despar at Calle al Ponte de la Guerra, a COOP at Salizada San Lio, and a COOP and a Despar on the Riva del Carbon (near the Rialto Bridge), along with a ‘Vino Sfuso’ (wine on tap) shop on Calle del Mondo Novo and a greengrocer’s stand at Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

Within a short stroll of the vaporetto (water bus) stop at Rialto for exploring the city, the ‘Traghetto’ gondola ferry carrying passengers across the Grand Canal between the Riva Del Carbon and San Silvestro in the San Polo district and the vaporetto (water bus) stop at San Zaccaria for trips around town, visits to the Lido beaches and to the Biennale Pavilions at Arsenale and Giardini.

Absolutely awesome. It was so fun having a glass of wine and watching the gondolas go right by the large window. Gorgeous old rustic and simple contemporary interior with beautiful lighting at night! Great location. About a 5 minute walk to the Rialto bridge and water taxis and airport ferry and about a 10 minute walk to St. Marks Square.

We loved our stay so much. The place was immaculate, stylish and the location was perfect. So close to Rialto bridge. 100% stay there again. We had the best view of the canal with gondolas going past which gave a lovely experience. We had a lot of communication and a lovely guy Lucas came and met us at Rialto to take us to the apartment. Had the best time. Thanks.

Marco, our concierge, was excellent. Very polite, spoke excellent English, was on time, and very responsive to our texts and questions. Annalise and Marta, our email contacts, were equally so.Tha apartment was also great. The picture window in the living room looked straight out on the intersection of two canals and a bridge, where many gondolas and other boats passed by so close that we could wave to them from the sofa and they would wave back. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were all beautifully setup and clean. The apartment was right in the middle of Venice.

Amazing location. Close to everything. Beautiful apartment with superb views! Property management was extremely helpful from the moment we booked until the moment we checked out. Met us at the water taxi and led us to the property. Even helped with the luggage.

Our stay in Venice was wonderful. This apartment is in a great location, easy to walk anywhere. Canal view is amazing. Rainy night, bottle of wine and fantastic view! Check in was easy, helped us with a water taxi. Highly recommend this place. Traveled with two early twenty boys and my sister--we all loved this place and Venice!

We loved our stay and agree with all the other positive reviews. I would only like to add that much to our surprise it was very quiet inside of the apartment. We were two couples but didn’t wake up when they showered or left early. The view is great of course! Nothing really…. Or it would be some coffee cups but it kind of feels like nitpicking to mention this….

Unique accommodation in an awesome location on the canal waterline. It was great waking and watching the gondolas go past our window each morning. The apartment is renovated to a high quality. Communications through the booking and the stay were first rate. I would highly recommend this apartment and views on Venice. Wifi in the back bedroom was a bit patchy and the toilet had a canal smell at times. Not big issues.

Amazing location! Steps from Rialto, 5 minutes from St Mark’s Square! The view out of the living room window is so picturesque. You also have a grocery store, pharmacy, and restaurants within two minutes. The beds are comfortable and you have two bathrooms. It is perfect! Everything was great. The washing machine didn’t always spin well, the dryer shut off every ten to twenty minutes. You could pit two comfortable chairs in front of the window in the living room so more people can sit and enjoy the view. But that’s just being picky. It was all great!! Thanks!

Place was nice. Bathrooms were nice and worked well. Kitchen was not stocked very well but I guess most people don’t cook in Venice. We do cook breakfast at most places. Looks just like the pictures on VBRO. we enjoyed our stay here. They sent someone to lead us to where the place is. Venice can be confusing to maneuver so it was a good thing. Just some added information. The extra Venice city tax will be added when you get there. It’s $40 per night per guest charge that they will collect up front. We didn’t realize this til we got there but it is Venice. All in all we enjoyed our stay here.
