THE SPACE
The Clarkdale Lodge is an historic building that was built in 1914 and originally used as a boarding house for unmarried employees of the local copper smelter. It was subsequently converted into apartments which we are now modernizing to a high standard while preserving historic details where possible. All apartments are tastefully furnished and have HDTV's in both sitting and bedrooms. High speed Internet access is provided throughout via WiFi, and kitchens are fully equipped and ready to use.
The deck you see in the photos is a large shared area accessed from the upstairs hall. It has gorgeous views and makes a perfect place to sit and have a glass of wine in the early evenings. There is a shaded patio area underneath it on the ground floor for when the weather is too warm to sit in the sun.
GUEST ACCESS
In addition to the apartment you are staying in, all guests have access to a public sitting area upstairs stocked with books and games, and a second story view deck overlooking the Verde Valley.
NEIGHBORHOOD
Only a 10 minute drive to historic (and happening) towns of Jerome, Old Town Cottonwood, and red rocks of Sedona, Clarkdale itself offers the Verde Canyon Railroad, river rafting, wine tasting, restaurants, neighborhood bars, a bakery/cafe, and museums!
Comfortable property in a nice location.
The unit was spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a kitchen. Bed was not comfortable. View out the window is of a cement plant. The exterior is very poorly maintained, unkempt, weedy landscaping. Exterior stairs are rickety and not lighted at night. The shared porch was dusty and dirty. Upholstery on the porch chairs was dirty and torn. Very poor first impression. I realize this is a historic building but it needs some sprucing up. Clarkdale is very small but we enjoyed the Copper museum (very well done) and Violette’s Bakery for breakfast.
Really cute and close to lots of quirky shops and great restaurants!
I was so happy to find this place. It’s a cute little studio with full kitchen which was just what I needed. I wish it had been available for more days as I loved staying here but I booked last minute so was glad to get 3 days. It was very clean and comfortable with a pretty decent view even from a room on the side of the building. It was convenient for my brother to come pick me up as he lives in Jerome. The only negative I could say was the porch furniture was kind of old and not very comfortable and they provided pots and pans but they were scratched Teflon. Otherwise everything was spotlessly clean and I would definitely stay here again.
Perfect location. Room was spotless. Host thought of everything we might need.
Nothing too extraordinary about this Vrbo or Clarkdale, but made for a convenient middle location for exploring Sedona, Cottonwood and Jerome. The room was very quiet and had the essentials, but had a bit of an “old” smell to it and the “shared porch” wasn’t anything desirable to use with a chair with ripped upholstery and a blocked view. Just different than I had pictured from the listing. Still, decent for the price and very clean.
Great place quiet ,cute would recommend to stay here for sure
Great unit, exactly as described online. Very clean with all the modern conveniences needed.
