The property was very clean and newly renovated. Upon our arrival the owner insisted he checked us in in person which we thought was very odd. We have stayed at many vrbo properties and not one time has the owner made a personal appearance. He was a tad on the rude side by insisting I take off my shoes at the front door only to walk 50 feet to the back door to help my husband unload. We had just ridden 850 miles on a motorcycle to get there so I was no in the mood to remove my shoes for a rental property I had paid to stay at. When I said, you've got to be kidding he said, ma'am do you even want to stay here? What kind of a question is that? I paid to stay there. A rude welcome by the owner to D.C. Also, several kitchen items were missing and when I pulled the coffee maker down from the cabinet - to get it ready for the next day - it was full of used, nasty coffee grounds that I had to clean to even use the coffee pot. I found a dirty, dried folded wash cloth on the end of the shower curtain rod. It had obviously been there several days. The A/C thermostat was encased in a locked plastic box so we could not adjust in any way while we were there. I would suggest this owner re-evaluate his customer service methods.

This place was perfectly close to many attractions. We choose to make breakfast and dinner at home to cut down on costs. It could of used sharper knives. We had a heck of a time cutting potatoes with the dull knife. The back stairs from the alley are very steep so watch your step. Back half (laundry room, Bathroom and upper back bedroom & bathroom upstairs) of the house was very cold. But there are extra blankets and space heaters up in the back bedroom closet. We would definitely stay again.
