We have been VRBO customers for years and also owned an VRBO property. This is the first time I’ve ever posted a negative review. Having been an owner of a rental property I understand how difficult it can be. That being said, we recently travelled to Pittsburgh and love this area (we stayed in a different VRBO the previous time). We were excited to stay in what we thought was a 4 bedroom house. However, when we pulled up we realized it was a weathered apartment building with 3 bedrooms (one with bunk beds) and two full size beds. 1 full bathroom. After trying to communicate with the owner (which she left the VRBO number on the portal where she should have left her number) for over an hour to try to get in we finally did. Her response to us waiting was, “I’m glad it wasn’t hours”. The apartment was not what we were anticipating which happens on these sites and we were okay with but it was so dirty. The floor and baseboards of the bathrooms are covered in dirt and filth. The beds were so uncomfortable too. Once we were in we noticed there is a camera outside the property (which I understand) but every time you open the exterior door it rotates inside. It felt like a complete violation especially with minor children. The apartment smells of pot especially around 12-3 am. The absolute worst was our children walked out the door and saw a massive raccoon sitting outside the apartment in front of ours (which is all indoors). This place is just filthy and dirty.

Lisa was very responsive and accommodating. We requested to arrive a day earlier than originally planned and she made it happen. Clean home and great location. Will stay again!

Lisa was amazing with communication. The place was super clean and plenty big enough. The private parking space was a bonus. We were in town for Anthrocon and this property was only 5 minutes away. Gave us the time we needed to rest and the room we needed for privacy.

I stayed here with 6 other guys for a golf trip. The host was really good with communication and even recommended some places to play at while we were there for the US Open. Super close to cool areas of Mt. Washington and really easy to get into the main part of the city by the stadium district, only a 7 minute uber. We stayed on the second floor of the house and had plenty of space but brought an air mattress to ensure everyone has a place to sleep. The area around the house doesn’t look great but it’s a safe area and we never had any concerns. Some people mentioned that the exterior of the house is in bad shape, that’s true but the inside is in great shape and was very clean. Plenty of towels, pillows, sheets, and blankets to use. Also plenty of trash bags, I can’t stand when hosts only leave one trash bag, how does that help keep the space clean! We also appreciated YouTubeTV being logged in, made it easy to watch Tv. Opportunities: The couch bed is rough to sleep on and I don’t know if I would count that as a place to sleep, the couch itself is comfier. The sink and the shower were really slow to drain and probably needs snaked or some unclogging. It was mentioned that parking wasn’t great and it’s not, but we just parked on the street and there was plenty of space. There is only one spot in the actual driveway.

Stayed her while in town for a tournament. The interior is as expected. It’s an old house which I believe 3 different units in it. Our floor was spacious and comfortable. Amenities we adequate. Towels and linens were clean but the towels had a little musty smell to them. There is parking but it’s a little bumpy getting into it. The neighborhood is ok…seemed relatively safe. The exterior of the house is less than desirable, it looks old and beat up and wasn’t very inviting, but the interior was fine. Like I said this is an old house that seems to be renovated only on the inside. Location was great for us with a short 10 min ride into the city.

Overall it was great: The kitchen was well stocked which was perfect when we got in late because our flight was delayed, the oatmeal and tea were appreciated! If you are a light sleeper there is some sound that travels from people walking upstairs that may interrupt your sleep as it's an older building. It was not a problem for us as we were exhausted from exploring the hilly vibrant community on Mount Washington all day long. There are some great restaurants and some amazing views of the city 10 minute walk away, and a pub and a coffeeshop even closer!
