CHIC Retro 2Bedroom Apartment

Lovely old school beach cottage. Comfortable beds. Lots of natural light. The Zen garden is a cozy space to chill. Close enough to the beach but in a nice quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to restaurants and other conveniences. Superba brunch and bakery is a delightful way to start the day. Dary was friendly and responsive throughout our stay. Only surprise was coin-operated laundry. Bring lots of quarters if you need to do laundry! All in all a great place to stay!

Well, first red flag was four days before we arrived the owner indicated the apartment address in the ad is not the actual location but 2km away. It certainly shows a lack of transparency, particularly since we expected what we paid for. In hindsight this made sense since all apartments within 2-3 blocks were much higher in price. One might suggest this is a strategy to get renters? If something is too good to be true, it usually is.The apartment actually has super potential and is quite charming, however it is apparent that the absolute minimum is being offered in upkeep and especially cleaning. I will rarely complain about much at the expense of sounding pretentious but I feel I need to offer these observations for others awareness. I’m not sure this place has been cleaned in weeks, perhaps months. The dust and lint on the baseboards and cobwebs everywhere are evidence of that. But, the food stains and splatter on the walls and down the cupboards in the kitchen were quite disturbing. The amount of food left in the portable oven simply can’t be missed if the worst house cleaner had been on the job. I do suspect someone did attempt to clean the bathroom at some point but the rag they used to clean the walls left hair all up and down the walls…like super long red ones that if you flicked them off with your finger left red residue. Finally, I mentally convinced myself the white crusty stains on the blue velvet sofa was also just food…oh please let it just be food!!
