Stayed Sep 29, 2023There is a bar next door that plays loud music until midnight. The people there are very loud. There isn't a dryer so you have to hang your clothes in a room without airflow. The property manager made me go to her house first to check in. She knew we didn't have a car.

Stayed Mar 17, 2023What a unique property right in the center of the town with an amazing family history! Communication in English with Margreth and her husband Josef was excellent. They were very charming and welcoming hosts. The apartment was clean and recently renovated in this 300 yr. old property. There is plenty of space situated over two floors with all amenities included. Parking is right around the corner in a private, gated, underground garage included in the rent. Bars, restaurants, cafes, shopping, and supermarket are just out the door or within a few blocks of this walking friendly town. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in the area.

Stayed Sep 8, 2019Sankt Wendel is a beautiful little town, and this place is perfectly situated in the Altstadt, next to the cathedral. Same family (very friendly & knowledgeable, by the way) has owned the property for its entire 300 year history. And they have taken very good care of it. Everything was as described - the location even exceeded my expectation from the pictures! I would love to come back during the Christmas season.

Stayed Apr 9, 2018I knew in advance that this would be a very nice place to stay in the most attractive part of Sankt Wendel, but it was much better. The hosts were gracious and helpful. The apartment was far larger than one had a right to expect, and well appointed. It was like staying in a very comfortable home. And in fact, the host grew up in this family home and now rents it out to lucky guests. It was quiet, attractive, historic, convenient, large, well-appointed. The location was also great. I did not know what to expect of St. Wendel, but this historic center is quite beautiful and pedestrian only. The church is magnificent. Cafe Luise, recommended by Mr. Kockler, was very nice. I stayed in Skt Wendel because it is central to the several villages I was visiting. I don't hesitate to recommend staying in this part of Skt Wendel, and I highly recommend staying in this apartment. Truly top-notch.

Stayed Dec 22, 2017We loved this apartment! It was huge, clean, and had all the comforts of home. It is in a great location with stores and restaurants very nearby. The train station is a short 5 minute walk away. It is right next to the historic Cathedral which is gorgeous. Margreth and her husband were very friendly and hospitable. They met us with the key when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. Margreth even left us some delicious Christmas cookies to enjoy during our stay. I took off one star because there is a bar right down the street on the corner which got pretty loud at night. That could be a problem if you have kids that are trying to sleep. But it didn't really bother us. Also, the wifi doesn't really work upstairs probably because of concrete floors. But we worked around that too. We would stay there again for sure and would recommend it highly!

Stayed Jun 22, 2017We spent 3 nights in this fantastic apartment. It takes up 2 floors of a historic building right in the center of town, with a view of the Basilica of St. Wendel. The church is well worth visiting. Since you're in the center, things can get a little noisy at night (lots of restaurants and bars), but the bedrooms are on the top floor and the master bedroom has windows that don't face the noisiest areas. We didn't have any trouble sleeping, but people who are sensitive to noise might consider earplugs. The hosts have set up the apartment beautifully, with a great and well-stocked kitchen, a lovely and spacious living area downstairs, and three nice bedrooms upstairs. The smallest bedroom is set up for little kids, with a crib and toddler beds. There's also a second kid bedroom that was perfect for our 8 year old, and a generously sized master bedroom. The bathroom has a washing machine, and there's a huge closet/drying area adjacent to the master bedroom. Private parking in an underground garage (included) was about 1 city block away. The town itself is in a lovely area, perfect for visiting friends at the U.S. airbase, and also for touring the area--you're close to lots of great natural and cultural sites, not far from decent-sized cities and museums, etc. The hosts provided great tourism materials, including a volume on local attractions written by the husband. We'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed Jun 25, 2017We had a perfect stay! Frau kockler and her husband, very welcoming! They were at the property when we informed that we would arrive, and they came on time when we departed! The house was perfect, we had 4 adults and the room situation was terrific! We were able to see the church directly out the bedroom window. I loved hearing the bells ring! The window shades were perfect, wifi was wonderful! The kitchen and all the utensils were great for our morning breakfast. We were able to go to numerous backery's to buy our brotchen to return to eat on the spacious table. Coffee pot was wonderful, they even left coffee in the pantry for us to use! The parking garage was instrumental to our stay, we had a rental car, and the garage assisted us from having to find parking each day! The garage was right around the corner just perfect! I left the parking remote in the car one day, a simple phone call and frau kockler came right over to open for me! I give this apartment style house a A+ it was clean and accommodating! There is a wash machine but no dryer,, but plenty of space to hang dry in the bedroom, there is a towel and hand towel for each person, upon arriving, so you can use the washer if you need to clean your towels or clothes. we weren't there long enough to use the washer. If you need a place to stay in Saarland, or Sankt wendel, this is the place to rent! What a wonderful house and stay in Sankt wendel! Thank you from the Griffin family!
