'Chateau on Compass Creek' Quiet Hayesville Escape

Our spontaneous getaway at the Chateau on Compass Creek was a most serendipitous experience, being even more than we expected and over-the-top delightful. Lynn, the host/owner, gives special attention to every detail and amenity one could want or need, even fridge and pantry staples & “goodies,” She goes above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable and well satisfied, a true “Southern Lady.” The apartment is spacious and beautifully decorated with plenty of linens, bedding, sitting areas, and little extras that feel so welcoming and homey. All that was WONDERFUL, but the BEST part for us was the “music” and serenity of Compass Creek on that spacious & lovely deck… it was such a special place that we spent most of our time sitting, talking, eating, reading, napping… right there OUTSIDE our apartment! The “Chateau,” the location, and the most gracious Host made for one of the most relaxing and memorable vacations ever!I hope it won’t be the last time there!

Ok... when I arrived I was amazed at the location's beauty. Then I went along the boardwalk and entered the chateau and was just amazed. I'll say that this is the most beautiful space I've stayed in using VRBO and that's saying something. The style is old world chic and tastefully done. The space is arranged very well and functioned great for my needs. The kitchen is perfect for one or two people with plenty of utensils and cookware to allow for easy meal prep. The washer/dryer are hugely welcome. The porch overlooks the river tributary that flows past the property and it's running water fills the air with a beautiful bubbling on the right side and a rushing hiss to the left. Completely floods the audible space with peace and calm vibes.The local area is a good walking environment. I walked four of five days there and explored the farm and mountain views along the way. The main road can be a bit tricky to walk along with the local traffic but I didn't encounter any issues as the drivers were all cautious. The river branches that flow in the area are delightful and full of life. The flowers along the roadside are varied and beautiful. And there are cows!The Verizon signal drops about 1/2 mile from the VRBO but the internet connection makes up for that loss. I was able to work without any issues.My second thought after wow was this could be a perfect place for some quiet time with my significant other..... That's my current plan anyway!VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Lovely house by the creek. Enjoy some quiet time with my family. With it also being pet friendly, loved the place. Will definitely like to go back.

OUr Host was wonderful and was very accommodating. She made it a point to put thoughtful touches to our stay, like the delicious muffins that she left by the coffee pot.

The view and location was amazing! It was great to listen to the rushing water in the creek next to the house. Our host went above and beyond in providing a well stocked kitchen. Would stay there again!

The place was very nicely decorated and very clean. The owner went out of her way to make the stay extremely comfortable. Private location and very quiet inside and the relaxing sound of the rush of the nearby stream outside.

She was a great host! She came and greeted me when I arrived. We loved the roaring creek, the boardwalk, and the layout of the place. She had everything you could possibly need, like a hair dryer and toiletries, and a myriad of blankets and towels. The fridge was also stocked with some food staples, like milk and eggs and oj, and the pantry had some snacks in it, and she provides some baked goods and a bottle of wine. Our dogs loved running up and down the boardwalk and it was a beautiful place to host a little family dinner. The kitchen has all of the spices and cookware you need. We will definitely be back!

We absolutely love staying here, our second visit. This place is so relaxing! It has everything you need. It has a wonderful hostess, Lynn who provided us with delicious muffin on arrival. The decor is rustic/sophisticated Tuscan old world Spanish/Italian which I love! It has a beautiful patio over looking a mountain creek, a perfect place for your morning coffee or after dinner glass of wine. This is our favorite place to staynear Hayesville when visiting family. We are planning another visit in February!

We really enjoyed our stay ! The chateau was very clean. We were greeted with muffins and a card welcoming us. The kitchen was so well stocked with anything you could need. Lynn was wonderful to work with. She certainly goes over and above for her guests. We loved the creek beside the chateau. There is a wonderful deck to enjoy. Unfortunately , it rained everyday we were there. We look forward to staying again next time we go visit family.

Property and home were just beautiful, so well appointed. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was so well equipped. Hostess is a love. Lovely muffins were a treat. My stay was just not long enough.

Was a lovely little space with more than enough amenities!Everything came fully stocked and the host even had items in the fridge upon our arrival!The outdoor area was amazing and such a lovely way to wind down an evening!Absolutely breathtaking views and the stream sounds are constant and beautiful! The whole little house was perfect for a night stay and had games and cards and puzzles and everything you need to cook!

Place was clean, very spacious and very relaxing. Enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful hidden gem in Hayesville. The host was wonderful and the place was stocked with anything you may need! Better than we imagined. We'll definitely be back!

The rainy weather didn't let me enjoy the spectacular Creekside Garden as much as I would have liked! Comfy stay with everything you & your pup need! Appreciated the well stocked kitchen & treats!

This place is beautiful! Unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to stay longer, but we really enjoyed our evening by the creek. It’s very peaceful and reminds us of a European villa. The unit is clean, comfortable, full of little details, and inviting. Our host was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the complementary muffins and coffee! We would definitely consider staying here again.

The property is located in a very beautiful area. The water that is next to the property was very therapeutic to listen to. The owner of the property was also very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay. Lastly, all of our needs were met as the owner thinks about all the essentials.

My husband and I had a lovely time at the Chateau on Compass Creek. Lynn was remarkably gracious and welcoming! We were very comfortable in the apartment - lots of seating, workspace, and room to relax. We loved our time outside on the deck, listening to the creek! We found good things to do in the area - brew pubs, hiking at Rabbit Mountain trails, beautiful views. We definitely plan to come back to this wonderful home!!

We loved our entire 5 day stay at the Chateau. It’s located right on the creek with a large deck overlooking it. This place is beautiful, peaceful, clean, and very relaxing. We would definitely come back. Thank you Lynn for letting us stay there.🙏
