Description from one of our guests The beds are so comfortable and it is so much more than the photos show; it is so nice to wake up in the mornings to the sounds of birds chirping.
The property is located only 3 miles from the Riverwalk and Convention Center Downtown! This desirable Monte Vista neighborhood and central location is perfect to enjoy both local and touristy venues. The neighborhood is generally quiet but on occasion, music from Trinity, the Sunken Gardens or other San Antonio festivities may be heard at a distance. In close proximity to farmers markets and two universities, Trinity and Incarnate Word. Local and unique shops nearby. Tasty restaurants within walking distance. Dinner and music venues both casual and sophisticated not far away.

The place is spacious consisting of 1,300 square feet, hardwood floors, formal living room and dining room, 2 bedrooms &1 bath; Bedroom 1 has a Queen bed (sleeps 2) and Bedroom 2 has a double bed (sleeps 2) and sleeper sofa in living room, sleeps 2. Central AC and heating, washer and dryer, work desk, TV (antenna channels, some DVDs and HBO on demand), clothes hangers, bath towels, shampoo, soap and hair dryer.

Has a charming original and basic 1930's kitchen (pots and pans, wine glasses and basic cooking utensils are included), kitchen appliances are stove, refrigerator, toaster, microwave and basic coffee maker. Our goal is to retain this 1930's property in its original design, so please know that there are limited outlets and counter space.

There is an HEB grocery store a few blocks away, there is a YMCA under a mile away for those with membership, it's located within a mile or so to the Quarry Market and the Pearl Brewery, a local favorite. There are several golf courses within a short distance from the property. The location is so central that although you are in San Antonio which is a large city, it has a small local feel due to nearby proximity to shopping, the downtown area and the Pearl to name a few.

This place is perfect for travelers that appreciate 1930's architecture and have nostalgia and love for charming older homes. The architecture of homes and neighborhood takes you back to 1930's San Antonio!

If you like antiques, there are quite a bit of antique stores in near proximity off Hildebrand and others off McCullough.

Hotel occupancy taxes are not owed for stays of 30 nights or longer. For shorter stays, hotel occupancy taxes are at 6% for the state, 9% for the city and 1.75% for the county.

Absolutely No smoking and No pets. No parties and No loud music. Check-in after 4pm, CST. No check-out after 11 am, CST.

This is a charming old world place that comes with old plumbing so do not throw away any toilet paper, feminine products or other in commode Nor food/food particles or grease in sinks, please use trash bins.

The front porch is available for guest use, however, there is no access/ use of backyard permitted other than to park, throw trash and recyclables in bins.

Parking on site for 1 small to medium vehicle with the exception of instances when construction or restoration work is being done on property; street parking for larger vehicles.

The entire place has hardwood floors and this is a first floor apartment so guests will hear creaking from walking upstairs.

Overall, this is the perfect spot for those wanting to enjoy many San Antonio attractions near by!

Special Notes:

- In order to conserve energy and resources the AC/heat in the unit is left off when not in use. Guests will need to turn on the AC/heating unit when they arrive. In other words, it would be hot or cold in the unit when guests arrive depending on whether it is summer or winter and it will take several hours for the temperature in the unit to become cool or vice versa due to its size. The AC/heat unit is relatively new and works well.

- The unit is large and spacious at 1300 square feet, The inside of the unit is as posted, however, the outside of the unit is being restored in sections and is in need of scraping and painting, This is why we have posted this unit at a low price for a large 2 bedroom 1 bath unit in Monte Vista, a Historical neighborhood in San Antonio.

Everything was as stated and shown in description. They welcome you with a full notebook of info including wifi passwords & eateries near by and even a little bowl of treats (which my kids very much enjoyed) . Location was perfect for anywhere in SA especially downtown by the riverwalk. Quiet neighborhood, would definitely stay again. Cons- You need a very compact vehicle to fit in back parking space and on street. Also if you're staying in the down stairs living quarters be prepared to hear the upstairs guest moving around.

We were concerned about no toilet paper in the toilet but the trash has a tight fitting cover so no odor problems at all. We liked the place and location so much we will be returning next year.

We really enjoyed staying at this home which was very conveniently located close to Trinity University which we were visiting for an Interview there Pluses were the location, the size, and the price. Also, Mary was a sweetheart, who immediately made us feel welcome with home made chocolate chip cookies (yum!) Minuses - although there were few, we found the fold out bed to be very uncomfortable, so my kids chose to sleep on the couch without folding it out. Also, my family found the lack of a dishwasher and the old plumbing to be a a bit frustrating (although both were advertised correctly so we were not surprised) If we returned to Trinity, we would stay here again

Great little two bedroom with comfortable beds and plenty of room to spread out. Had training at Trinity University so it was prime location. It isn't super updated but was definitely a great nights sleep for us. Thanks for the great stay Mary.

This is one of our best vrbos ever. The location is superb. The neighborhood is great for walking; it's close to everything and can't be beat. The very cute house was charming, super clean and comfortable. Mary was a wonderful host, with lots of suggestions (and a fine notebook in the house) offering up tips for what to do, and where to eat, in the area. The place has all you need. We travel to San Antonio to visit family, and we plan to stay here again. This place feels like a home away from home, and we highly recommend it! All in all, a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the house, it was clean and as described on the listing. The location of the house is excellent, close to the freeway, at the door steps of Trinity University, and 10mins to downtown. If you have not lived in an older / historic house this is your opportunity to experience it. The reason for the 4 stars is the drawback from the old plumbing where you have to make adjustments such as not being able to discard toilet paper, etc. in the toilet, and the lack of comfortable furniture / sofas in the living room. That being said we look forward to staying at the house again and recommend it because of its charm (open layout, large rooms, solid construction, etc.) and the convenience of the location. For the price it was well worth it. Hope others enjoy the house / location as we did.
