Situated a short walk from the medieval working village of Entraygues, overlooking the river Truyere , our one bedroom studio/Gite is the ideal place for discovering one of France's best kept secrets, the beautiful department of Aveyron.
This department has more beautiful villages than any other department of France.
The accommodation consist of a living dining area with satellite TV, DVD player, sofa, dining set, book case of English and French books and DVDs. There is a well equippedkitchen with cooker and ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge freezer and floor to ceiling cupboards. There is one bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe. A separate WC. A new shower room with shower and basin. Bedding, bath and beach towels are included. Gas, electric and water are inclusive in the price. So is the use of a safe and wifi. There is also a washing machine, iron and a hair dryer.
Outside there is a large terrace with views of the bridge and the river. The terrace has table and chairs, sun loungers, BBQs and seats. There is a private swimming pool for our guests to use, which is fed by spring water and has sun loungers and seats next to it, as well as a large private garden by the side of the river with sun loungers and a table and chairs under the walnut tree. We also have off road parking and if required the use of a small garage.
There are other Gites in the area that need a car to get into the village, we are just a short walk over the bridge from the shops, restaurants, bars, bakers etc.
Entraygues sur Truyere is a working village, primarily farming and tourism. There are all the usual amenities including a small cinema and a bank.
During the summer there are weekly farmers markets and festivals through out the year.
The village is situated on the confluent where the rivers Lot and Truyere meet and so there are many activities on the rivers such as canoeing and fishing. The area is fantastic for wildlife watching. We have seen kingfishers, herons, fish, coypu and cormorants on the river as well as buzzards and deer in the garden.
We are road side but the Gite is above the garage and so road noise is reduced.
Vue du Pont would make the ideal base to explore Aveyron and the nearby Auvergne or just to wander round historic Entraygues. Conques, Estaing and Espalion are a short drive away. Rodez the area’s capital is less than an hour away. Millau and Mur de Barrez are also worth a visit.

Carolyn and Paul, the owners, were very hospitable, welcomed us with a bottle of local wine, and always on hand to direct us to the local places to visit (make sure you visit Conque), which were lovely. The Gite is small but ideal for two people, and has everything you need for your stay. The patio area is a lovely little sun trap as well. We made very good use of the pool, which was a great way to cool off in the heat. If you want to fish whilst you are there, make sure you take your waders, as the far river bank is where all the shelter is.The village is beautiful, great little pottery there and a local Intermarche if you need anything basic (nearest supermarket is about 30 minutes away). There is a lovely restaurant/bar in the village square called 'Le Independente', not a huge menu, but everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were really nice.

The gite is well equipped and in good condition. The owners have created an extensive visitors guide with all the locations and contacts for local services Also suggested places and routes for visits Gite is on a busy road at height of summer. Double glazing and shutters help with noise but when hot at night and windows open the traffic is very noticeable. At other times of year maybe not an issue. Pool has some maintenance planned to allow it to operate at a completely full depth with final 20 topped up.

On our arrival we received a warm welcome from Carolyn and Paul along with a bottle of local wine! We spent a wonderfully relaxing week at the Vue du Pont. We never tired of the beautiful view over the bridge and village. Carolyn's gîte is conveniently located, just a 5 minute walk into the centre of Entraygues where there are bars, restaurants and shops. The gîte was well-equipped and also possesses a lovely, sun-drenched decking area with sunbeds and tables and chairs. In addition there is a pool and garden which borders the river. As mentioned elsewhere the property does overlook a road but we did not find this to be a problem. Overall, probably the most enjoyable of our stays in France. We hope to return to Vue du Pont in the future! Many thanks to Carolyn and Paul!

Enjoyed our stay very much but frustrating not being able to walk into the village because of the bridge being closed. Too dangerous to walk on the roads!

A very good sized gite with plenty of space for 2 people and containing all the things you needed in the kitchen etc. The outside area was good with plenty of space on the decking and also the lawned garden by the river. Parking across the road was convenient. The road could be a little noisy during the day but was quiet in the evening and night-time, we didn't find the road a problem at all. The village itself was pleasant with enough shops, bars and restaurants without being taken over by tourists. There were lots of places to see and visit in the area, a week wasn't really enough to see all the things you might want to see. Carolyn and Paul were very helpful and the guide that they had provided was very well done, giving lots of information about the area, walks you could do, local visits, buses, doctors etc.

We had a lovely week in vue du pont kayaking on the rivers and lakes nearby. The little town of Entrangues was lovely and a great market on Fridays. The swimming pool at the gite was a great place to relax. Sadly while we were there the bridge was closed for repairs which made for a long walk into town but normally this wouldn’t be a problem. The only issue we had was the traffic, being by the side of a through road this made the gite a little noisy at times and the lorries thundering past in the early morning especially made for a disturbed nights sleep particularly when you need to have the window open in hot weather. Otherwise a superb place to stay.

Very impressed with the property itself and the amenities. Kitchen tools, crockery, glasses, etc very well stocked. Very good pool and grassed private garden by the river with shade and a lovely spot to sit. Easy walk into Etraygues for goodies, much appreciated. Well placed for visiting this area e.g Millau viaduct, Figeac, Conques etc
