The Neighborhood:

This property is in the Irving Park / Old Irving Park area on Chicago’s Northwest Side. Known for its mix of classic Chicago architecture, tree‑lined streets, and neighborhood character, the community blends quiet residential blocks with pockets of shops, restaurants, and local hangouts. You’re close to everyday conveniences, parks, and a variety of dining options along nearby Irving Park Road and surrounding corridors.

Irving Park offers a comfortable, lived‑in vibe that’s both inviting and practical for guests who want local flavor without being right in the downtown core. The area’s diversity makes it easy to explore authentic neighborhood eats and relaxing spots not far from the action.

Getting Around:

Getting Around

The neighborhood is walkable for local errands, restaurants, and destinations, with sidewalks and main streets nearby.

Several CTA bus routes run along Irving Park Road and surrounding streets, offering reliable connections across the Northwest Side and to transit hubs.

The CTA Blue Line is a short ride or bus connection away, providing direct access downtown (The Loop), to Logan Square, Wicker Park, and beyond.

Biking is another option, with bike‑friendly streets and routes that make it easy to explore nearby parks or connect to larger trails.

Street parking is generally available if you’re driving, and major roads like Irving Park Road and the Kennedy Expressway make getting in and out of the neighborhood straightforward.

Despite how cute the apartment was, the radiators are not on a thermostat in the unit and the house was very hot. Whatever timer they used kicked on around 4 am and the radiators all released steam for 2-3 hours straight. It was so loud they left earplugs by the bed. The couch in the living room is so bad it should be replaced ASAP. They need one table or dresser in the bedroom for clothes. There are a good amount of hangers in the closet, but no drawers or shelves anymore so you can't unpack a suitcase. Otherwise the location is nice if you're visiting someone in the neighborhood. It was easy to park for free and train is close for downtown or O'Hare. Kitchen was very clean and everything you would need was there.
