Stayed Dec 31, 1969This quiet apartment has served as a home away from home for me several times. Great place to cook a meal for my children living a couple of blocks away. I could easily have a couple of guests over for a drink on the patio and a casual dinner outside. And the grocery store and cafe were in walking distance. Eda is now a friend and very helpful. A lovely and convenient spot!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I could not imagine Thanksgiving in a strange apartment in Hollywood could work but it was truly perfect. This truly special apartment had everything one could need to make dinner and we ate outside in the patio. Although an 'apartment', it feels like a small stand alone cottage -- private and quiet. The neighborhood is easy to walk in with a market and small cafe two blocks away. Eda, the host, was always available when needed and provided warm and welcoming touches such as flowers and fresh fruit. I look forward to my return.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We spent almost two months at the Beachwood Canyon Retreat - and it exceeded my expectations! First off, Eda is a wonderful host who ensured a lovely welcome complete with flowers and kitchen food staples. The retreat has been designed to maximize space including a fabulous outdoor patio - where I enjoyed my morning coffee/breakfast and evening wine quite often. Kitchen was well appointed - we cooked almost every day (my passion) and I had all the tools I needed for our stay in addition to many spices that were already there. Master suite was roomy: bed was comfortable, had a wall mounted television - perfect for a late night movie or early morning news and a charging station which kept our electronics and chords in one spot! TV/Cable/Internet contained a great package for entertainment and high def channels. Washer/Dryer easily accessible (for no additional charge) along with a spot to store luggage. The details have been well thought out including books on the area, great light blocking shutters and high quality sheets and towels. We were incredibly comfortable and felt completely safe. One of our favorite features is the multitude of fairy lights which beautifully light up the evening sky and create the perfect ambience for an evening outdoors. It was a quick walk to the market to gather anything you need (including great cocktail ice!). You can't go wrong choosing this place and with Eda as your host - we would and are definitely coming back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This listing (Hillside Cabin) is everything as described and far exceeded all that I hoped it would be. I was extremely happy living here for a month. All of Eda's properties are impeccably clean ( including the sparkling windows) nicely furnished, super-well equipped with anything you could ever need, and well maintained. This is a very safe, peaceful area, and unique property with the stonework upper and lower level patios. So much fun! The highlight for me was to be on fabulous Beachwood , to experience this wonderful neighborhood as a local, walking to the Cafe and Market and to walk every morning through the Hollywood Hills up to the sign. I enjoyed meeting Eda as much as staying in this home. She is a delight - warm and friendly and very helpful. It is nice knowing she is so accessible, right next door. You could not be disappointed staying here - highly recommended! I am already planning my next trip back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969After years of staying in hotels in Los Angeles, I decided to take the plunge and stay at one of the VRBO properties I had been contemplating for a while. All I can say is what took me so long??!!. Eda's apartment is fantastic! Perfect location, perfect size for a single or couple, clean and a wonderful host who cannot do enough for you, but is never in your face. The easy parking, free wi-fi, and kitchen mean I will never stay in a hotel again, and I would definitely recommend the Patio Apartment to friends (in fact I already have). The booking process couldn't have been easier. Eda is a great communicator, and was very accommodating to all our needs. My only problem writing this review is that I might not be able to get a booking next time I'm in LA! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My stay here - the only way to describe is PERFECT. This apartment is beautifully setup & you feel like your in your own home. This owner has remembered everything right dow to the sticky tape. Everything you need is at your disposal & if it isnt the owner will get it .The apartment is very clean & well designed with cable & all. I would say this is a five star hotel quality or better. The kitchen is great in size with full size refridgerator & stove/oven. The owner is very helpful & knows everything about LA so I found her indespensable. I will go back every time Im in LA. Also thge location is fantastic & close to Hollywood & all bus & metro. Perfect retreat after a hard days sightseeing.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I stayed at the Beachwood Flat for nine weeks while I was in LA with the tour of Spamalot. Eda was a lovely host and had the flat prepared with all kinds of homey touches when I arrived, from milk and cheese in the fridge to cut flowers in vases around the apartment. The flat is decorated beautifully and was a wonderful home for the summer. I especially loved the private outdoor patio - as did my cat, who spent countless hours out there enjoying the sun. I HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone visiting the LA area for a peaceful retreat away from the madness of the city. I loved the close proximity to Griffith Park and Los Feliz, although it was often hard to tear myself away from the apartment as it was so nice! I will definitely be back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We got real Lucky! My girlfriend and I stayed at Eda's Beachwood Flat and what a treat it was. From our first dealings and the promise of Brownies (which was fulfilled) to the last day we left, Eda was the perfect host. My designer girlfriend, who is not easily impressed, was blown over at how nicely furnished and comfortable this cozy one bedroom was. Eda, (who Tracy pronounced Ida or Yoda at first) has thought of everything from the fully equipped kitchen to the luxurious silky sheets. The patio is bigger than the picture shows and was perfect for morning coffee and evening glasses of wine as the cayotes howled in the lush hills of Beachwood Canyon. This is a slice of Hollywood that many people will never know. You can walk a block up the road to the local market or have coffee at the historic coffee shop. Gawking at the Hollywood sign was last on our list of things to do because we barely wanted to leave the confines of Eda's little slice of heaven. We tried to bribe her to let us rent this place long term, as we were house hunting, but she was strong and would not fall victim to my honed powers of ruthless negotiation. Touche' Eda! We will be back, and hopefully be neighbors with our wild cayote-like mongrels, Tess and Wiley. Thanks for everything! Jeff and Tracy

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The cottage was perfect. Everything we needed was there. We really appreciated all of the extra touches which made it feel like home. It was especially nice to have groceries provided to get us started since we were arriving late from a flight. Having the broadband access, two flat screen televisions, ipod charger, etc. made things easy and pleasant. The laundry area was wonderful. One of the things we really enjoyed was the the lovely, private patio with the nice table and lounge chair. We ate outside often and took advantage of the great weather. The flowers were beautiful. Jim and I will recommend your place to all of our friends and colleagues who may be coming to the Los Angeles/Hollywood area.
