Poorly remodeled, Poorly maintained. Possibly in violation of building codes. No equipment in kitchen. Luckily I travel with some camping gear so I could get by. Low cost and central location but don't expect much. Texting with owner had incorrect dates and addresess and said he would bring anything I needed, but acting retroactively on everything.

We arrived on a RedEye flight for a long weekend. We were unable to get into the apartment because the lockbox code didn’t work. The owner of the property did not respond to messages or calls but later said he had left his phone somewhere. The area is sketchy af and I felt very unsafe. One of the neighbors came outside while we were trying to leave the apartment to go find a hotel because their dogs were barking at us. The neighbor seemed to be cracked out asking to look in our car then threatening to call the police and blocking us from leaving all while digging in his pockets for something. That’s the most scared I’ve been for my safety in a very long time. Again, this area is super sketchy and I would not recommend staying in this area at all. VRBO customer service was great and were able to give us a refund and 2 free nights at a hotel. The owner called me the next day to apologize and seemed very kind. I’m not sure why the lockbox code wasn’t correct but it worked out because I wouldn’t have felt safe staying at this property.

Coming from the perspective of a solo female who has travelled to numerous places in the US & abroad: The property is close to downtown Phoenix, which was great since I came in for a work conference at the convention center. It is close to ASU campus and a few blocks away the neighborhood seems quite lovely, I did walk back and forth to downtown during the day. However, this house was in a little bit of a rough spot so I did not feel comfortable walking there at night. There was a picture in the listing that made it seem like the property was either in or around a larger structure (assumed to be a complex with numerous units or condos), but that picture is actually a building a mile or so away. Also, the listing shows pictures from two units, which I did not realize until I got there and went back through. I would suggest separating the photos in the listing for more accuracy. Overall cleanliness was OK. I did have an issue with the AC unit where the cover fell off and the power button seemed to cave in. I messaged the property manager and they did come by the property to look at it and get the AC working again. I noticed that they secured the cover back on with electrical tape, which... was kind of par for the course here. I feel like this property has great potential and in a few years, with an expanding downtown, the neighborhood may be great. But, I wouldn't stay there again alone.

Cute little studio that was perfect for our three day stay. Host left water bottles and canned Coca Cola as well as coffee which I thought was a nice touch. The bed was clean and comfortable. The only thing missing was a small dinette or table with chairs to eat at which is my only recommendation knowing there isn’t space for much more than that. Otherwise our stay was perfect. Host allowed us to extend our stay at a reasonable price at the last minute due to a flight delay which was a relief. We appreciate your great communication & accommodations. Perfect place and a reasonable cost. Thank you again
