Centrally located in Lucca, a beautiful Tuscan apartment with terrace

Loved this flat. The location couldn’t have been better - close to everything you’d want to walk to (restaurants, markets, sights, train station, the wall), yet off the main pedestrian thoroughfare, so quiet. And the flat itself was perfect for the two of us, so easy to unpack, settle in, and feel like we were living in Lucca: plenty of shelves so we didn’t feel we were living out of our suitcases, well-stocked kitchen so we could cook at home when we wanted. Would stay here again.

Another visit to this great apartment and, as ever, it doesn't disaapont. Clean,spacious, characterful and equipped with everything you could need. The location is excellent - very central and yet still quiet. The property manager, Ali, is great to deal with - quick to respond, friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be back. Lucca of course is a great place - as soon as you arrive it feels like home again.

We spent 5 nights here and used the apartment as a base to explore Tuscany. It was very convenient to the train station, many bars, restaurants, shops and attractions, but not on a busy street. A locked gate at street level and a solid door made us feel safe and secure. One day we had lunch on the veranda and enjoyed listening to a clarinet quartet practice at the music school across the street. The apartment had all the amenities we could have wanted. The bed was very comfortable. Ali provided great recommendations in person and in the guest book, as well as much-appreciated flexibility in checking in and checking out. Final note to anyone walking Lucca: take a paper map or plot out a path before you start walking. We found the GPS walking directions on my Android phone useless, and my wife's iPhone was only a little better. We wish we could have stayed longer, and will certainly book here again if good fortune allows us a return trip to Lucca.

I have been to Lucca before but my usual rental wasn't available. When I originally contacted this owner for a nine-day stay, I asked two questions before booking: 1) Is there any construction nearby? 2) Will I hear footsteps from the apartment above? I was told that there wasn't construction and that no one had complained before about footsteps. When we arrived it only took 12 hours to realize the answer to both questions was YES. Two 6 or 7 story buildings were being renovated and both could be seen and heard through the closed windows. Over our heads the upstairs couple was tromping about every morning at 8 and then 12:30 and finally 19:00. Care to sleep late? NO CHANCE; NOT A SINGLE DAY. Then one night a piece of door molding fell off the wall and almost hit my spouse. I wrote an email to the owner simply REPORTING my experience with the construction and the footsteps and the molding. I received a reply denying responsibility for anything at all and stating that the owner had NEVER heard footsteps (the upstairs owner had lived there 12 years.) Surprisingly, the email did not contain a single word of concern for either of us. JUST PLAIN RUDENESS. Oh yes, the owner has a dog so there will be hair and the general environment that accompanies dog owners. And that wonderful sound of the (very accomplished) students practicing is often a cacophony. Worst 9 days of a 55-day trip to Europe.

Charming apartment right next door to the Boccherini Institute in the Centre of Lucca. Waves of music played in music lessons waft over the area. Excellent reach of restaurants and sites. Quiet at night. Definite must stay apartment.

Our second time at this lovely apartment (and hopefully not our last). Character building, great location, very comfortable and all the facilities we needed.

The apartment was excellent in every respect - location, equipment/ facilities, comfort, accesibility (small number of steps but easily managed - even though we are not young!). Our dealings with the agent, Ali, were great - very responsive and helpful throughout the process from booking and throughout our stay. We certainly intend to return.

Perfect location for exploring Lucca . A wonderful place with stunning architecture , amazing restaurants and vibrant community .Comfortable and stylish apartment. Efficient and very friendly check in . We loved it !
