We loved this place. It was perfect. Safe, clean and quiet. A couple things to know before you go to Hawaii: 1) Birds chirp all night. 2) Don’t leave any fruit out, even bananas! Refrigerate everything, because little fruit flies will get the fruit. This place was perfect. The location was awesome. We spent all of our time at Two Step Beach and cruising the backroads checking out different coffee farms and bakery stands. There’s a fantastic farmer’s market down the road from this place on Sundays that has the best Thai food and cheapest organic Kona coffee.
Neat and clean ground floor one bedroom apartment. Congenial, unobtrusive owners live above and respond quickly to any concerns. Comfortable bed, fairly well equipped kitchen, small lanai with a partial ocean and sunset view, strong WiFi. Located in a small neighborhood, so you will hear the neighbors’ arguments and TV programs, but generally not too intrusive. Great location from which to access my favorite places and activities—two step snorkeling and the Pu’uhonua o Hōnaunau, Kealakekua Bay, Captain Cook Sunday market, and water activities out of Keauhou Bay. Decent grocery store in Captain Cook, and a larger one in the Keauhau shopping center. Tip: if you land at the airport before 3:30 or so, consider driving south immediately to avoid at least some of the Kailua town rush hour traffic, and pick up your first groceries in Captain Cook or Keauhou instead of Costco or Safeway. Thanks, Susan and Larry, for a lovely two weeks!
It was fabulous being back in Capt Cook. We visited old friends and old stomping grounds. We ate at our favorite restaurants add hung out at our favorite beaches. It was good to be back home.
