Stayed Mar 27, 2025The check in information is provided to you 24 hours prior to check in, the email has a ton of information (e.g., parking, laundry, etc). The apartment is right in the center of everything, you aren’t walking far to get to restaurants and the rainbow road. We parked at the church everyday, a few block walk to the apt. The email was very responsive. We didn’t realize how tired we’d be and didn’t initially get early check in, but as we were landing I emailed asking for early check in. Within a hour, the place was ready and we could go take a nap! The apt was clean, bright, and the beds were comfortable. Great stay!

Stayed Mar 8, 2026The location is what makes this place amazing. We were given a 2nd floor unit (no elevator) which looked different than the listing photos but was simple and clean in that lovely European way. Kitchen is small but worked for our needs (breakfast and dinner for 3 nights). It does get chilly and main room was drafty but the radiators helped. The balcony view over the street was like in a movie, and although we could hear street sounds wasn't bad at all. Only other item to note is the sulphuric smell from the bathroom - natural in a geothermal area - and easily solved by closing the bathroom door!

Stayed Sep 4, 2025The shower drain smelled of sewage. Told to put cold water down the drain. Saw another review mentioned this issue as well . Shower curtain well beyond its sell by date, heavily discoloured at the bottom and not wide enough for the shower enclosure. Fridge had ice/condensation inside the fridge, did not use freezer area.Coffee maker also needed updating.Beautiful location, handy to everything, deserves better upkeep for the price charged.

Stayed Aug 10, 2025The apartment was nice and clean but small. And the bathroom water smell (Sulphur) was just too much after a few days. Otherwise, delightful location.

Stayed Jul 6, 2025Our stay at the apartment was excellent. It was a quiet relaxing place to end a long day of touring. Central, close to stores and restaurants. The check in process and access to the host were also excellent.

Stayed Feb 25, 2025The property was just what we needed for our first trip to Iceland! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen is small but adequate. We had trouble figuring out how to work the shower faucet to give us hot water, but management promptly responded to our inquiry and we figured it out. A few more towels would have been nice, and a small dresser or even plastic drawer units or luggage stands in the bedrooms would help. Because it's right on the main street there was late-night noise outside but it wasn't terrible. The only real downside was that for us, a 70 couple, walking up and down four flights of narrow stairs was more difficult than expected, especially with suitcases. I recommend the property for younger folks but caution seniors or people who aren't very fit to consider if they can handle the stairs. It's probably not well-suited to families, as the bedrooms and bathroom are quite small. Several of the pluses: being able to see the Northern Lights through the skylights in the bedrooms and from the porch; excellent communication from management throughout the process; a Bonus grocery store is less than a block away; and an ice cream shop is right out the back door!

Stayed Feb 18, 2025We enjoyed the central location, sunlit rooms and skylights which allowed us to see the northern lights on our last night in town! We found this to be a great spot for our family to relax after days spent wandering the city and countryside. The bedrooms were small but very comfortable and both had slanted windows allowing views of the night sky. There was plenty of space in the living / dining room and a nice kitchen with all the basics. We also enjoyed access to a private balcony with a view towards Hallgrimskirkja. Great spot, we would stay here again.

Stayed Jan 4, 2025Me and My girlfriend stayed for a little under a week, and it was a great place to stay. so close to so many great bars and resturants. With easy pick up for tours and sightseeing everything was such a quick walk. We did have a little trouble finding a good place to park our car, but that was our porblem not the verbos. Management was very responsive to all our questions and was very pleasent to speak too.

Stayed Jan 13, 2024The location is great! It is a 4th floor walk up, so just beware of that, but otherwise it’s a lovely place and had what we needed for our trip.

Stayed Oct 16, 2024Sleeping accommodations and the overall aesthetic of the apartment was charming. Management was also very communicative and helpful, even offering suggestions for luggage storage when we arrived in Reykjavik very early. The bathroom was one of our primary issues during our stay as it was timy, a little smelly and difficult to maneuver without getting water from the shower or sink everywhere. Overall an OK stay for 4 nights.

Stayed Jul 22, 2024Stayed with our adult and teenage child for one night prior to departing Reykjavik. The location is excellent and my comments below are to provide additional information in most cases. I was glad I read some of the reviews to see that it was on the 4th floor, otherwise I wouldn’t have known. Parking was confusing for someone not particularly familiar with parking in this city. Maybe a recommendation and directions would be helpful? The apartment was renovated and really cute, but I don’t know that I’d recommend it for more than 1-2 nights, especially with more than 2 people. The grocery store is close. We did not use the kitchen so I can’t speak to that. The bathroom was small, as advertised. But, when we were there, it had a sulphur/sewage smell (we needed to keep the door closed). The shower curtain only had about half of the rings and was short, so water went everywhere. No soap, just shampoo and conditioner. We did teach out to property management as the door was open when we arrived and the code didn’t work. They got back to us in about an hour.

Stayed Jul 14, 2024I have never left a negative review over the many years and properties we have stayed at. Unfortunately, we had a problem in the bathroom at this apartment and the management company was dismissive and brushed it off as “the way the water smells in Iceland.” We were very excited upon arrival at this property. The location is superb and the place was well decorated, spacious and seemed clean. My daughter opened the bathroom door and we all gagged at the smell that poured out. I immediately called the company to notify them and was told that when a place sits empty for a while the hot water needs to be run for 10 minutes. We ran it for 30 and that made it worse as the steam seeped into the whole apartment causing it all to smell (no ventilation in the bathroom.) I was in communication with the company for the whole next day trying to find a solution. We continued to be told that was the normal smell for the water. We have stayed in several rentals in Iceland and are aware of the sulfur smell of the water. This was not that! This smelled like sewage overflow or a dead animal. As much as we explained this to the company, they maintained that we were wrong and it was normal water smell. Beware of having a stinky time if you stay here.
