We were in town for a college visit to Georgetown University. Great location and attentive host!
Great location. I would suggest some sort of night light in the kitchen and the living room as you have to walk through each room to get to light switch.
Great value for the money. It is a basement unit so there are a few stairs ( five or six?) to navigate from the gate at the side of the house to access the door to the unit. The unit has windows but not as light as if it were a first or second floor unit. The backyard sitting area in the spring and summer is a great feature though the weather did not permit us to take advantage of it on our stay. The metro is an easy couple of blocks walk away. The unit also has everything you'll need. The separation between the two bedrooms is very good. There is a grocery store within easy walking distance, so stocking the fridge, if you do not have a car, is not difficult. If you value your money and want to save more of it to spend enjoying the sights around D.C., you will find this a comfortable place to stay while you visit.
Easy to get around to Metro and resturants and stores. We will be planning to come again next year.
The apartment was just as advertised in pictures and description. I reached out to the owner several times with various questions and always got a quick response. Check in was easy. Location was great for parking the car and using public transportation. We would consider staying again if we are in the area!
We stayed at the apartment for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. Rod, the host, was incredibly attentive and responsive, and the property was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect for us. Would recommend and stay again!
We enjoyed our visit to the DC area while we moved our son into college. Location was great! Quick walk to the metro and easy access to so many restaurants and sites of interest. Our hosts were communicative and very accommodating! Lovely place and will stay again.
We enjoyed being so close to the Metro and every service we could possibly want. The apartment was a great place for the four of us to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. The hosts were on top of everything including getting us a parking pass for the one day we rented a car. Can't wait to stay again.
My husband, 9-yo son, and I had an enjoyable stay at this garden apartment. It's located on a quiet street and is just a few blocks from the closest Metro station, which allowed us to get around easily. It's only about a mile to the zoo, so we were able to walk there and get a bite to eat on the way home (there are quite a few restaurants near both the Van Ness and the Cleveland Park Metro stop). Rod is probably the best host I've ever worked with - he was friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. Other hosts could learn a thing or two from him and his lovely family! He even showed my son where the basketball hoop was so he could burn off some energy after our travels. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable, but there are a few quirks. There is some muffled noise from upstairs (I suggested they add a fan to each bedroom for white noise to get around this). Part of the ceiling in the living room and primary bedroom is quite low, so keep that in mind if you're on the tall side (my 6'3 husband had to duck). The layout is a little odd, with the entrances to the bedrooms being a bit far apart, so those with younger children may find that difficult to maneuver (or may welcome the distance, depending on your perspective ;) Speaking of younger kids, there were some toys and games if you are stuck inside for any reason, and there were also extra toiletries in case you forget anything. Overall, we had a great stay and loved the hosts and location!
Amazing launch site for my families trip to DC. So close to the zoo, metro, and amazing food. The beds were great, as was the kitchen space.
Rod was great. Close to everything
We loved sitting in the garden.
We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. Clean, convenient to metro, and in a charming neighborhood. Property owners are excellent hosts! Highly recommended. Book with confidence that this home is an excellent choice. A++
Exactly what we wanted: close to bus and Metro, grocery store, bakeries, restaurants, bookstores, parks, playgrounds, and easy to get downtown to the sights. We were not looking for hotel-like accommodations in the heart of DC. Very easy to communicate with the property owner.
Extremely clean living space. Two blocks from Metro - location can’t be beat! Nice neighborhood. Well stocked kitchen. Laundry was a plus. Comfy beds and nice linens/towels. Cozy space with large sectional and table made for plenty of room to spread out with the kids. The bathroom has a very tiny sink - bring washcloths to avoid a mess.
Perfectly placed for getting around DC.
