Before proceeding any further, please make sure our “house rules” meet with your vacation expectations so as not to affect the return of your security deposit:

Beautiful bay front apartment with waterside backyard and dock for boating and fishing. Just steps to a 5 mile stretch of world class beach and walking distance to restaurants, convenience stores, and nightlife. Clean and comfortable, the perfect place to vacation.
Relax on the dock while enjoying your favorite drink; the excitement of dolphin and manatee sightings never gets old. Sunrise on our dock, and sunsets on the beach, we love our property and know you will too.
Our two bedroom apartment is offered exclusively to guests (no owner's belongings to navigate around). We provide a welcome "starter" of complimentary coffee, tea, creamer, condiments, spices, and more.
This is a ground floor unit with approximately 600 square feet of living area near the main building entrance. The center courtyard and tranquil inter-coastal backyard are just a few steps down through the breezeway. Please note, there is no water view from inside the apartment. There is one queen bed in bedroom 1, and two twin beds in bedroom 2. USB plugins for your electronics are provided in both bedrooms and the living area.
The property is secured by a large, access controlled wooden gate which is adjacent to the apartments front door; the apartment has a smart lock with keyless entry. Guests are provided access codes the morning of their scheduled arrival via text and email.
The apartment is equipped with a large "Smart TV" with cable and internet streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc) -- guests must have their own account. High speed Wi-Fi internet is provided throughout the property (yes--even outside on the grounds!) at no charge.
We provide toiletries, linens, towels, beach accessories (chairs, umbrellas, towels, coolers), gas BBQ grill, and complimentary clothes washer/dryer. The large smart key controlled shed holds many of the goodies--you will be provided the code upon check in. Some of the above items are provided on a first come first served basis.
The apartment has a semi-open kitchen with dishwasher, and is equipped with all the basics a guest needs to dine in. You will find a K-cup coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, blender, pots and pans, etc. The full size refrigerator has an ice maker.
Central air-conditioning (no wall units or mini-splits) provides guests with consistent climate comfort and very little background noise.
About the property: there are 4 apartments on the property (2/2, 2/1, 1/1, and a Single). The spacious grounds, beach and other "toys" are shared by all guests. The property affords multiple seating areas for our guest's comfort. There is a hot/cold outdoor shower with a privacy door that you won't want to miss, and a spectacular outdoor kitchen/bar for entertaining.
The beach is literally across the street! Also directly across the street is the Island Inn Resort which has a great little Tiki Bar on the beach and is open to the public. You can rent kayaks, paddleboards and more on the beach in front of the Island Inn.
A short walk to the south of us is a liquor store, surf shop (with paddle board rentals), 7-11 store with gas, Caddy's on the Beach, Sea Dogs, Shrimpy’s, and Sea Hags restaurant. About a 10 minute walk to the north of us is Publix grocery store and many restaurants and bars.
Close to Tyrone Square Shopping Mall, Salvador Dali Museum, Sunken Gardens, St. Petersburg Downtown, Fort De Soto Park. Tampa International Airport is about a 35 minute drive. Busch Gardens and Tampa Bay Aquarium are about a 45 minute drive. Clearwater Beach and Marine Aquarium are about 25 minutes north of us. We are approximately 2 hours from Disney World, Sea World & Universal Studios-Orlando.
There are 5 parking spaces in front of our building (A thru E). All of the spaces are the same width, but different lengths due to the angle of the building. Please park in the space that best fits the length of your vehicle. Parking space E is best suited for guests with full size pickup trucks or suburban type SUVs. Please note parking is limited to 1 vehicle only. If you choose to park in space E and there is a guest with a larger vehicle than yours, you may be asked to move your vehicle.
Laundry closet is located next to the center courtyard and there is no charge to use the machines.
One boat slip is available to guests and must be reserved in advance. A $25 per day boat docking fee will be charged.
Outdoor security cameras monitor the common areas, shed, and property entrances.
Boating dock and ramp was perfect. Tom is a great host with great communications.

Riley retreat was the perfect spot for our annual ‘girls trip!’ Four of us stayed and the place was perfect for us. It is cozy, but is exactly as presented on the VRBO site. Very clean and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Beach access is super easy and Tom provides everything you need to spend the day on the beach - towels, chairs, coolers, etc! We really enjoyed and took at advantage of the beautiful property on the water in the evenings. Would definitively stay again!
Riley’s retreat absolutely lives up to the hype. This is a complete package that offers an intimate setting with the most central location around. All of the little details are meticulously executed in a way that leaves you feeling well taken care of and sure to book again. Thank you for the stay, can’t wait to come back.
Suffice to say the past excellent reviews are correct. Sit on Bay dock in AM and watch dolphins. Walk 50 yds to Gulf beach and watch sunset in evening. Fully equipped kitchen. Excellent washer and dryer. Grill operates well. Just look at the picture of backyard on the bay. Note: The Apt. does not have a direct lanai or view BUT it is literally a 20 yard walk to glorious backyard with plenty of chairs, etc. Gulf beach has that west coast white soft sand with shells. Do this!
We can’t stop talking about our stay at Riley’s retreat. It’s our second trip there and both times I felt welcomed, safe, relaxed, and well taken care of the entire time. I can’t recommend Tom and his gorgeous Treasure Island getaway enough. Can’t wait for our next trip!
My husband and I had a lovely month staying at Riley’s Retreat. We had chilly, windy weather the first three weeks, but walked on the beach every day and explored the area. We found several good restaurants within walking distance, shopped at Publix which is only five or six blocks away. We got acquainted with Tom, Zul, and her daughter, Issa. They were all friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed and advice in restaurants. The last week was gorgeous, it was truly a lovely retreat. Our family joined us for a few days, loved the property as we did. Highlights were the dock with its big comfortable chairs, the fire pit, the well appointed outdoor kitchen, the fountain, outdoor shower, and many outside seating areas. My family and I hope to return!
