A wonderful, spacious, comfortable, well-furnished, friendly, hide-away in a beautiful spot. Only wish I could have stayed longer.
If your looking for a place to go, just you and your spouse/partner, I would absolutely recommend staying here. It's out of the hustle and bustle of town, in a relaxing country setting. Beautiful views!! Cell service is not the best and there is no wifi, both of which we knew before booking. It was nice to unplug from everything that life throws at us these days. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the owners, is that there's not much to do in the evening in the area. Everything closes down at 5pm so make sure to plan your day early and you'll have the evening to relax. We would absolutely book with BJ and Barb again!
Second floor apt... What was an inlaw appartment is now a seperate rental. Back patio enterance is very secluded. Second floor bay window allows quiet peacful indoor sitting, secluded open feel. No internet to drag you back to work, but Good cell reception for tourism search (have data available)
Enjoyed it.
Everything was great. I missed messages that came through the site as we were busy enjoying ourselves and weren’t checking emails but I will take that as a good sign. ? Thanks Barb and BJ. We would definitely return.
We really enjoyed our stay at Barb and BJ's Country getaway. We went the area to celebrate our 40th anniversary and we were not disappointed. Barb and BJ were great hosts, very friendly and hospitable with their place. The room was really nice and had a great view of the mountainous terrain surround the region. My wife enjoyed morning walks and visiting with the animals that they have there on their farm. It was a highlight for here during our visit. We also enjoyed the fresh eggs they shared from their free range chickens. We both thought the room was cozy and really enjoyed the fire from the pellet stove. It gave the room a nice romantic atmosphere to help us enjoy our anniversary together there. One possible drawback to be aware of is that the place did not have the internet / WIFI as an amenity as listed and that was a slight adjustment as we would have liked to be able to stream some things to view in the evenings. Fortunately they do have good cell reception so that helped s to be able to use our phone service as an internet source while we were there. Another Heads Up for others considerations is that this particular place was back a dirt lane that was very muddy because of the recent snow / rain that had fallen. If those 2 items do not bother you then I would recommend this place to you. Overall we had a good experience there and we personally would consider returning in the future if we decide to do more vacationing in that area. Thank you Barb and BJ for sharing your Country getaway!
