Already in the 14th century, 'De Drie Koningen' was one of the 'guest houses' where visitors could stay overnight. Since 1995 this tradition of hospitality can be found here again.

Today you will find 6 spacious and very comfortable holiday homes at this location, named 'De Drie Koningen'. They all have the same level of comfort with a spacious living room, fitted kitchen, 1 to 2 bathrooms with bath or walk-in shower, 1 to 4 bedrooms, etc ... They are spread over 3 buildings:

Twijnstraat 13: the building dates from the 14th century. The medieval aspect has unfortunately disappeared because it was thoroughly renovated in 1839 in the spirit of that time: a large mansion in neoclassical style. In 1997 the building was divided into 3 apartments: St-Donaas on the ground floor, St-Niklaas on the first floor and St-Jacob on the second floor. In 2002, the basement De Vergulde Fontein was completely excavated. The history of 'De Drie Koningen' came to light and one of the most beautiful 14th century cellars in Bruges was finally exposed. In this magnificent cellar you can attend now beer tastings, small events and Argentinian tango classes. From 2016 onwards, the apartments were once again renovated one by one in order to comply with the imposed safety regulations and the contemporary wishes of the visitors.

Twijnstraat 17: was originally part of a former notary's house from the 17th century in the Ridderstraat. At the beginning of the 20th century it became a private hospital with a doctor's practice until 1999. During the renovation in 2001 all outbuildings were demolished and a patio was created. This beautifully enclosed communal city garden (including a small swimming pool) gives access to 3 different apartments: St-Jan on the ground floor, Onze-Lieve-Vrouw above the former coach house and Carmers on the second floor. From 2017 onwards, the apartments were renovated for the last time.

A 'home away from home' for a pleasant holiday with friends or family.
This apartment is located on the first floor of Twijnstraat 13. The many niches in the walls bear witness to a rich history up to the 14th century.

After many renovations, it was redesigned for the last time in 2021 in a contemporary way with respect for the elements from the 19th century. The result may be seen: high ceilings, fireplace, spacious rooms, parquet in the living room. The whole radiates a lot of charm and the sunlight has every opportunity to penetrate.
The large living space contains a dining and sitting area. A separate fitted kitchen contains all modern comfort: induction hob, oven and microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, ... The bathroom meets the highest expectations with a bathtub and a walk-in shower.

Finally, there are 2 super cozy bedrooms (1 queen-size bed and 2 single beds).

Couldn’t rate this apartment more highly! Location perfect, cleanliness perfect, host perfect, access perfect, facilities perfect!!! It’s the little touches like amazing coffee maker, dishwasher, sundries (dishwasher tablets, foil, tea towels and rituals toiletries). Can’t fault it, booked parking space which included video instructions, nothing missing we loved it and would recommend!!! (Steep stair case not good for anyone with mobility issues).

The apartment was beautiful and perfectly located. I really appreciated the videos during details of how to get in, open the garage, even work the espresso machine! Would love to stay here again.

The flat is located only a five minutes walk away from Belfort Tower and was absolutely perfect for our short trip to Bruges! I can only recommend staying there. We arrived a bit late, but that was no problem at all, as you get entry codes for the flat a few days befor your arrival. The coffee machine was ready to go for the next morning, which is absolutely not a matter of course. We have been very thankfull for that! The flat is clean, spacious and we did not miss anything during our stay. You can reach everything you want to see in Bruges within a few minutes walk. Parking was easy, too. The next car park is a short walk away. Indeed you drive longer from and to the car park than you walk, because of the many one-way streets. If you are lucky, you can grab a car park on the premises, which is a bit more expensive than the other car park, but safes you the walk. ;-)

Our stay was wonderful. The apartment was more than enough space for our family of four. It was exactly as advertised. We loved the location. The honesty bar was a nice amenity.

I believe this is the very best short term rental in which we have stayed. Everything was amazing. The property is a good size, very clean, warm and inviting. Decorated nicely but not cluttered at all. There is a big comfortable couch and chair for plenty of seating to watch a movie. The kitchen had everything we needed and the greatest coffee maker. Tom the owner/manager created the best instruction and suggestion book I have ever seen. Comfy beds, plenty of storage. Such a perfect location to get to the heart of Bruges. It uses codes instead of keys which is great when traveling with multiple adults. That way people can come and go as they please without worrying about who has the key. But over and above all that, the other amenities were a huge shared garden space with a small pool. Perfect place for wine and cheese. We had the use of a washer dryer and an “honesty” bar. It was filled with tons of beer and other drinks. There is a huge selection of DVDs also. The best surprise was running into Tom and having him show us the basement of the property. It’s not for guests use but it has an amazing story he will have to share if you visit. It’s from hundreds of years ago. Absolutely fascinating to see this piece of history and I am so grateful that Tom shared it with us!! Our stay here made Bruges that much better. Thank you Tom! Honestly we wish our stay had been longer to enjoy more of the garden area.
