Apartment SOL MAR - Ponta Delgada center

The apartment has the ideal location and very easy parking (lots of inexpensive covered paid parking just steps away. Lovely view and quiet. Would highly recommend.

This property is called SolMar & should probably be listed that way so it’s a little easier to find. It’s located above a shopping mall. José met me at the security desk. We had rented a car & he got in our car to help direct us to the parking area. A parking spot was 35 euros extra for a 4-day stay. Pay attention to directions on walking to elevator as there is more than one in the garage & you must choose the right one. We loved the spaciousness of the apartment. 2 good sized bedrooms with closets/storage, a master bedroom, 2 bathrooms with plenty of hot water & good water pressure. The kitchen was fully equipped w/everything we needed as far as utensils, plates, etc. you do have to buy your own coffee, salt. etc., BUT there is a very inexpensive grocery store 2 doors away that has everything including fresh bread, cheeses, etc. We had a door seal that was letting the wind howl into the room, but it was immediately fixed. The washer & dryer worked well, a bit of musty smell after using washer that can be eliminated by opening windows. 2 umbrellas that came in handy, as well as beach towels that we took to the hot springs. Really enjoyed our stay at this great apartment.

Having a home base in the central part of the island made it easy for us to sightsee during the day and have plenty to do in the evening. The apartment is clean and spacious. A bonus was the snacks waiting for us! Our only complaint was the excessive knickknacks and decor. Most surfaces had a candle or vase, etc on it. Also the blinds in the main bedroom are stuck down making it a bit of a cave. Be aware that the main bedroom bathroom doesn’t have its own door. We would definitely stay again.

We loved this property - it had everything we needed and especially a clothes washer and dryer. Jose greeted us and made accessi available early so that we had more time to explore. Very convenient and great facilities in the building. We hope to return some day.

The Marina apartment had everything our group needed during our stay. The host Jose was excellent! He even rushed over early in the morning when one of us left a cell phone in the apartment at check out. The location was perfect, with grocery store, restaurants and activities all within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.
