Exclusive apartment with 3 windows on the port ramp, 20 meters from the water. 80 m2 newly renovated. Spacious, comfortable and relaxed, decorated with antiques and contemporary art. On the terraces of typical restaurants, which are like an extension of the house. It is not the typical plastic house for rent: it could be the owner's private home. The continuous rumor of the waves on the ramp creates a unique and relaxing environment. The car reaches the same door (exceptional in Cudillero).r>
I have decorated the apartment as if it were to live in it, with family antiques and with works from my collection of contemporary art (I am editor of an international art magazine). There are old hand-embroidered sheets, dishes, glassware, paintings, carpets, furniture ... antiques, combined with modern design (like the artificial turf of one of the bathrooms). I expect guests to treat everything with respect and affection: everything is yours for a few days ... or weeks.

Apart from this, Cudillero is unique in the world ... and the place where La Nana del Mar is (name of the floor) is the heart of Cudillero. And, in addition, the area of Asturias where Cudillero is is of a natural, landscape, ethnographic wealth,
gastronomic ... of which there are very few left.

Every tenant is my personal guest, I worry that he / she is comfortable and I inform him / her of all the secrets of the area: where I like to eat, in which village house I buy homemade cheeses and butter, where are the wonderful landscapes that do not appear in tourist guides and where I take my friends ...

Fresh flowers brighten the apartment every day.

On September 8, 2018, the 300th anniversary of the creation of the KINGDOM OF ASTURIAS is celebrated ... which became the Kingdom of Spain almost 800 years later. The battle of Covadonga (year 718) is celebrated, which stopped the conquest of Spain and Europe by the Muslims. The 100th anniversary of the creation of the Covadonga National Park - Picos de Europa, the first one created in Spain, is also celebrated.

Large windows open onto the main square and the harbor. The streets are closed to parking making it a perfect walk about for exploring this seaside and Hillside Village. Many restaurants and good seafood. Fernando was very helpful although hard to reach before we arrived. He will contact you by WhatsApp the day before your arrival. There are no markets in town so bring your groceries with you.

Cudillero has been the highlight of time in Spain and staying in Fernando’s apartment right on the harbour made our 2 night stay very memorable. Fernando’s recommendations for where to eat and what to see were great value and much appreciated.

Ok and good to start. However the apartment is full of photos of the owner’s deceased mother. I appreciate he loved her but it was a bit heavy. In addition the street cleaning lorry rolled past at 5 am. Noisy. The icing on the cake was the rat invasion. Woke up to one walking across the bedroom floor and then another knocking things over whilst doing gymnastics in the kitchen. I have to say Vrbo were sympathetic but unhelpful offering a three way call with the owner. He told me I had seen a cat. I wish! Suspect they came from the closed up restaurant below but nevertheless completely unacceptable. An apology would have been nice, a refund even better. On a positive the owner was very helpful sharing local info. Shame we didn’t feel able to stay long enough to find out In summary … disgusted

We stayed 5 days in this spectacular apartment that is right on the water. The name of the apartment is Lullaby of the Sea, and it could not be a better name. Every night we would go to sleep to the sound of the sea and a million-dollar view. But what made this stay so special, was the extraordinary host Fernando. He was positively marvelous and shared all his secret spots to go dine, shop and visit. The area is amazing but without his guidance, you would never get to know the area as we did. Fernando knew we were interested in fishing, so he arranged for a local fisherman to take us out to fish in the Harbor and we just loved it seeing the kind of fish we caught and seeing the coast from the water. He is an ultra supra host, and we will definitely come back and hope to stay longer next time! The very best VRBO has to offer! Christi & Paul
