Stayed Jun 12, 2022I normally don’t put too much effort into reviews but I feel an obligation to my fellow travelers to be honest. This is an upstairs “studio” from where the owners live. The stairs lead to the owner’s living area. It is completely open and accessible to the downstairs main living area. There is a shower door separating the bathroom from the bedroom providing no privacy. The bathroom was filthy upon arrival including “hairs” and dirt on the floor of the shower. The toilet had not been cleaned and showed signs of “use”. Don was receptive when I told him about the toilet. He offered to clean it. Instead we asked for some cleaning supplies which he provided. The towel rack came off the wall when I tried to hang a towel. There are no window coverings at all. If you are a light sleeper, you will be woken up by light. The yard is interesting with a pond and ample foliage but it is overgrown and not very comfortable. I would not sit out there. This place is not worth the $300 a night we paid.

Stayed Jul 10, 2025The interior of this special place was wonderful. With large wind chimes off the deck, and mirrored wind chimes reflecting light, as well as windows that fully opened for easy air exchange and natural light, I adored this place. Thoughtfully designed, comfortable bed and an oculus to top it all off!

Stayed Jun 11, 2025The place is very charming and unique. It felt like being in a fairy tale. Whimsical while also relaxing and peaceful. Neat architectural details. The yard is cute and the shady deck is great. The owners are kind and have thought of all the things one might need, and then added various thoughtful little touches to make the stay comfortable and memorable. Fantastic location near UofO, stores, restaurants, park and running trail, etc. Overall, it's a wonderful place and I highly recommend. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Stayed May 23, 2025The upstairs hideaway suited us perfectly — character, creativity, lots of natural light and wood. The whole place is refreshingly unusual and full of personality. Quiet neighborhood, but an easy walk to Hideaway Bakery and Temple Beth Israel. (Might not be ideal for people who don’t know each other well—bathroom door only partially covers the door opening, and the bed is about 7 feet from the toilet. But that was no problem for us.)
