Named “Best Place to Buy a Lake House in 2023” by Travel + Leisure, Saranac Lake perfectly blends small-town charm with big-mountain adventure.

There’s truly something for every season:

Ski & Ride: Mt. Pisgah (2.5 mi), Whiteface Mountain (18 mi), Dewey Mountain (1.7 mi)

Winter Fun: Ice skating, tubing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice climbing

Summer Adventures: Kayaking, canoeing, boating, and over 50 Adirondack hiking trails

Local Highlights: The Wild Center (20 mi), Lake Placid Olympic Sites (9–11 mi), Donnelly’s Ice Cream (4.8 mi)

Whether you’re chasing mountain peaks, floating on crystal-clear lakes, or enjoying live music downtown, everything the ADKs have to offer is right at your doorstep.

This is a lovely rental right in the downtown area of Saranac Lake. The location is so convenient if you want to walk around. We were able to walk to a grocery store and restaurant. The beds were so comfortable and there were plenty of spare blankets. The living / dining area was cozy. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely come back again.

While part of our group was a wedding in Saranac Lake, we enjoyed walking the town and visiting the shops. Just a short drive to Lake Placid gives you endless choices to eat and drink.
