A&C Design Apartment in Rome Just a Step from Trastevere & Colosseum! Bus Metro

Carlo met us at the unit and was very responsive to all our needs. The rental was in a quiet, safe neighborhood where we felt like we were part of the daily action right away!

Carlo & Alessandra could not have been more kind and welcoming. Communication before arrival was excellent and, as an 8th generation resident, Carlo's local knowledge and advice were invaluable. We went to the restaurants etc that he recommended and we weren't disappointed.The apartment is well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. Carlo & Alessandra also include a generous welcome pack.The location in Testaccio is impressively authentic. The restaurants, cafes, gelaterias & shops offer delicious & superb produce at good prices. Links to the main attractions & city centre are good and easy.Just a word of caution to those, like us, visiting Rome for the first time. Make sure you validate bus & train tickets in the machines provided. We didn't know about this and, although we had tickets, we were fined by transport police as we got off the bus at Vatican Museums for not having validated our bus tickets - 108!!

I was completely impressed by everything about this apartment. It's in a great location with easy public transportation virtually outside the front door that gets you everywhere you want to be in Rome.Many wonderful restaurants abound within blocks. This is a local neighborhood and had a very safe and friendly vibe. Although there were other tourists in the restaurants, it really is a hidden gem - a great contrast to the full-on tourist crazy that is Trastevere - which is only a 20 min walk away, just across the river.Carlos, the owner, was very nice and explained everything and provided a thorough overview of where things are located nearby. The apartment was spotless and looked to be recently fully renovated. The only thing I would point out is that there are multiple diffusers/fragrances and potpourri's in the space, which I enjoyed. But if you are sensitive to those, this may not be a good choice for you.That being said, if you are considering this hidden gem, I whole heartedly suggest you book it. It is a perfect place for your Rome adventure - full of charm and it provides a truly authentic experience.

Our hosts were perfect. They met us when we arrived and showed us around the neighborhood and apartment. They were quick to answer any questions and help. The apartment is right across from the public transportation and not far from everything. But it is a local neighborhood with fantastic food and local vibe. Best food and prices in Rome!! We had a nice bottle of wine to welcome us and maps, books, travel suggestions etc. everything was perfect. Highly recommend staying here. You won’t regret it!!!

Best host, location and amenities we’ve ever had. Host communication was excellent and they walked us around the neighborhood to show us local attractions. Great restaurants nearby with better food and prices than busier Rome locales. Felt like we were eating with locals. Easy walk or bus to all Rome has to offer. Host left welcome gifts and tourist information. We would definitely stay here again

Carlo provided a personal introduction to the apartment, the neighbourhood, restaurants, grocery stores, bus routes and the history. The unit is well located to the bus routes & highlights of Rome. The apartment is on the 3rd floor accessible by an elevator & stairs, it was clean, well maintained, modern & comfortable. The historic apartment has been renovated beautifully and the owners have made the unit look aesthetically appealing. The apartment is essentially 3 rooms - bathroom, kitchen / dining and bedroom/ sitting lounge space. The kitchen had dishes, cutlery & glasses for two, stove top, fridge & microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso (several pods as well), wine, beer, butter & chocolate cookies, water, soft drinks were waiting for us (a thoughtful touch). The countertops were small and filled with trays with espresso cups, martini glasses, coffee pods, tea bags/pot. In order to cook or prepare food, you have to move items onto the dining table. The dining table was set for two to eat, bottle of wine & wine opener and two comfortable chairs. There was one pot & spatula provided. No spices. The bathroom was beautiful & well appointed. Soap, shampoo, towels, hair dryer were provided. A tall shelf could be used to store personal toiletries. The walk in shower had great water pressure. A large window provided light & fresh air. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable queen sized bed and a couch settee, ample storage. and an air conditioner. No in unit laundry.

We booked this apartment because it had a 100% 10 out of 10 rating. How is this possible? Carlo and Alessandra are the most gracious and helpful hosts. This is their ancestral home and their pride in the area is only matched by the quality of the area. The trains, metro and buses are all close at hand but the proximity to so many of the historic areas of Rome means walking is a valid option.Carlo and Alessandra’s hospitality was expressed in so many ways. Like, taking off their shoes before showing us the apartment with no expectation we had to do the same “because the cleaned floor is now yours”; and showing us the best restaurants, bars, gelato shops etc. within a short walk of the apartment. There was so much more but I do not want to spoil the excitement of discovery when you visit.10 out of 10 …. no problem.

This property is within walking distance from the metro and busses to get anywhere in Rome. The property was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked with complimentary Nespresso machine, coffee pods and Italian cookies; as well as a bottle of wine and port and the fridge had milk, water and soft drinks.

This was a wonderful stay ! Alessandra and Carlo are superb hosts - and I hope to return soon .

This apartment in the Testaccio neighborhood was absolutely perfect. It was clean, comfortable & quiet. It had every amenity I needed. Carlo & Alessandra were wonderful hosts. If you’re looking for a place slightly off the beaten track of the city center, I highly recommend.
