Find yourself in the Past.......
Open the windows and dance across the old-growth, clearwood floors. Cozy up by the original 1908, wood burning fireplace and enjoy your surroundings, watch a movie, or better yet play a game or read a book. Set an adventurous agenda, or do nothing at all.
Previously a boarding facility for the railroad, the Loft's unique accommodations are perfect for large families and close friends: 2 king-sized beds, 1 queen, 2 twin trundle bed and 2 inflatable beds. We have to pinch ourselves every time we stay at this very special place... it is truly an amazing piece of history.
We look forward to sharing our family’s special retreat with you.
Please feel free to reach out with any further questions about the loft and I will be happy to answer!
There are a few restaurants, a small grocery store, and a park/river within walk distance. To all other major grocery stores and towns, a car will be needed there is no Uber/Lyft.
Wonderful place to stay with family. Lots of room and has everything you need!
A beautiful, big, well appointed loft with ons of space and right in the heart of downtown Brownsville. The loft had our connected bedrooms with space for at least eight, 1.5 bathrooms, a huge living room and kitchen, and TVs in most spaces, along with games, books, and even a foozball table. Truly a lovely space, great for gathering with family, and charming details throughout. One note - each set of two bedrooms don't really have doors between them, just curtains. That worked fine for us - late sleepers in the back, early birds in the front, and we were happy as clams, but families that need or want more privacy should be aware. There were doors between the living room/kitchen area and the bedroom space, which was helpful for letting us adults stay up late and not bother the earlier to bed kiddos. I loved how many windows there were and that you could look out at all of Brownsville from all around the space. It just felt like you were in the heart of everything - coffee shop a block away, Mexican restaurant around the corner, video store steps away, and a park behind! It feels like the kind of space that was once a home for owners of the commercial space below, and the current owners have done a good job ensuring it feels comfortable and in keeping with the town's vibe. Lots of antique decorations, rustic signs, and the most gorgeous hardwood floors. I'd love to stay here again, and really appreciate the owners welcoming people into such a lovely and well-located space.
Host was very responsive to an electrical issue- we loved the place! Armando’s Mexican restaurant around the corner is highly recommended.
They owners where extremely helpful. We had an rushed situation and they where able to help us out with a same day check in. Employees had nothing but amazing reviews of the space and we highly recommend it!
The Loft exemplifies why we stay at VRBOs - a fantastic, unique place where you can feel like a local for a few days, trimmed out with endless nice touches because the owners stay there too. When we first arrived, it felt a little scary, because it was nighttime and the town is several empty miles off the interstate and seems abandoned at night. We hadn't expected the place to be so BIG! It went on and on - it would be a fantastic place for a large family to stay, but also a great place to film a ghost movie. If there's any knock at all against the place, it's that the floorboards creak so everyone knows if someone's walking around (inevitable for a lovely antique of a place like this) But in the morning, and every evening afterwards, everything was cozy and delightful - you can see the antique store across the way, there was so much space that we never were on top of each other like happens at a hotel, and little delightful touches (like discovering a rack of weights and a perfect place for yoga, or enjoying all the vintage signs on the wall, or reading the stories of previous guests) were everywhere. The laundry facility was really spacious - better washing machine than I have at home! And the town was fun to explore - I think we found something great at every shop, and friendly people to chat with. The drive to Eugene (U of Oregon) took about 30 easy minutes on a straight, quiet 2-lane highway and when the craziness of the homecoming game got rolling, we were glad to have somewhere to relax that was out of the traffic and noise. The host was friendly and easy to talk with, and getting in and out of the property (and parking) was an absolute breeze. All in all, we are super glad we stayed here and would happily stay again!
We made the loft our base for a mother/daughter trip to the World Track Meet Oregon 2022. We found the accommodations as depicted in the description. The owners were responsive to our emails prior to the stay and checkin and out was a breeze. The loft had any item you could think of needing supplied. The towels and wash clothes were plentiful. We enjoyed the little town of Brownsville especially Randy’s cafe, the Saloon and antique/gift shop across the street.
This is a great spot to stay when visiting Brownsville. We were visiting relatives in the area and we were close to everything we needed. This was our second stay in the loft and plan to stay here again the next time we come to Brownsville.
Great location to both OSU and UO! Huge, clean, and comes with everything you could possibly imagine needing while on vacation - you name it, it'll be in the storage room, laundry room, closet, or just open any random drawer or cabinet and find treasures! I was so very impressed with this property, I'd give it 100 stars if I could. Aloha and Mahalo from Hawaii!
Awesome place great location! Had a fantastic experience!
This unit was perfect for our adult married children and their children. Huge common area and kitchen area and four bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable and every kitchen appliance you could think of was available. Our family plans on returning to the sleepy town of Brownsville- our teen age granddaughter asks grandma this is the best place ever, when are we coming back?
